Any word on what’s coming out new for 2019? I looked around but haven’t really found much. I was thinking about getting the Marcum LX9 but I don’t want to jump the gun if there is new stuff coming out. Let me know! Thanks!

Panoptix livescope is pretty interesting as far as new ice sonar. Lx9 hasn’t been updated since released as far as I know. I loved my lx7 but was not reliable

What did you replace your LX7 with?

Livescope is just not feasible for ice fishing. Too many amp hours being used unless you only fish for about 2 hours at a time.

It will be interesting what competitors start to come out with to keep with with Garmin though.

I just purchased the Garmin Panoptix live view for this year. So far playing around with the setting and such, but as far as the battery life. I have had it running solid for 11 hours and 17 min. Catfishing already. I do find the weight of the unit to be an issue on the ice, and the swivel mount assembly to use the panoptix transducer a slight bulky mess. But for what it does and how it can help in finding the schools or even single fish, it’s worth it. Also the price tag is hard to swallow at $1800 but I got it for New for $1500 just gotta do some home work in finding the deal.

I have a LX9 with open water transducer if you are interested. Purchased 1 1/2 years ago. See IDO link:
MARCUM LX9 WITH HIGH SPEED TRANSDUCER $900

Thinking about a LX6 since I have only used the camera a couple of times.

I use fl18 now I usually like to run 2 sonars one in both jigging and deadstick. Would like to upgrade this year to panoptix. Livescope should be released soon.

I have the Panoptix live view and I can get 11hrs-17min run time on a charge. The weight and the swivel mount for the Panoptix transducer is a portable issue. But for what this unit can do its feasible. LX9 is nice but the camera option is seldom used.

Which battery are you using for your panoptix that you’re getting 11 hours out of it? Ps22 and an Echomap Chirp 73cv?

I have 3 Dakota Lithium batteries running parallel in the power box I made that runs the panoptix.

Dang, you might want to qualify your earlier account on battery life with that statement!

I can get 11 hours run time on one charge….with my lithium battery…uhh 3 of them…in my custom made power box. Considering those lithium batteries are like 5x the cost of what most people use, and you have three of them, it’s a bit misleading.

Sounds like a dope setup though, would love to see videos of it in action on the ice. That translates to what battery life for a normal battery? 1.5 hours?

The Panoptix uses a much bigger battery than a standard flasher as it consumes an incredible amount of power.
