Newbie to Pool 4 (open seat Tue)

  • #1522873

Just joined the website. Hello everyone. So I am dying to hit soft water after the winter. Decided to hit Pool 4 Sunday through Tuesday. I usually fish Devils Lake, LOW, and other MN lakes. Though I am not new to fishing I am new to this body of water, during this time of the year.

I was looking for any advice on things I should know for my trip. I am putting in at Everts Resort. I am towing down my 14 Nitro ZV21 full loaded. So now how long of a boat ride to fishing spots should I expect? Is there anywhere I need to worry about hurting my boat (wing dams/sand bars)? What technique is working right now (type of bait/presentation) and what time of the day is best. If anyone is willing to give me a quick rundown on what to expect and what not to fish and maybe depth and what not would be great. I am confident I can find fish its the searching and changing of presentations I want to try to eliminate as much as possible.

Also I think I might have a seat open Monday and for sure Tuesday if anyone is wanting to jump in. I prefer Ranger boat owners lol, see if I can get them to come over to the dark side (NITRO NATION). ;)

Thanks ahead of time and look forward to the trip.

From everts to the dam if I remember correctly is just a hair over 2 miles. Very short ride to the places your going to be fishing. Not sure what electronics you run but I run humminbird and use the lake master chip. Shows were all the wing dames are. If you do not have GPS talk to anyone that works at everts. They have a map and will show you where they are located. As far as presentations lots of things will catch fish. Blades, Plastics, hair jigs, pulling 3 way rigs. They all have there time and place.

Stop in the bait shop and they should have a map. There are three wingdams below the dam on the minnesota side, and one above the vermillion. You can hit all four of them when the water is low. I’ll be at Evert’s starting Sunday and will be there all next week. If you see a red and gold Stratos 326, its probably me.

Thanks for the info guys. Just pulled the boat out and check my lakemaster map of pool four. Seems to have everything trez84 told me about thanks for the info bud.

John I will be in a red black and gray nitro ZV21 the same days u will be. If you see my boat come over and say hi and I will do the same. Always looking to expand the fishing network. Lol!

Excited to get out. Good luck to anyone fishing this weekend.
