Red was on fire for us over new years. We caught a ton of fish and a few pike. One giant pike that took about 20 minutes to land.
It did not seem to matter for what you had on I always have a red buckshot or jigging rap going. Dead sticks were better with shiners then fat heads plain red hook. Fished from 5ft to 7.5 in the two portables. Lake is down some this year.
The fish are fatter then I have seen them since I have been going there as a kid. Very healthy and just so thick. Going to be heading back up soon can’t wait.
