Hey guys I’m looking to buy a 20’wheel house. Looking at Glacier and Ice Castle. Any suggestions from you owners on models or what you like and dislike from either of them. Or any add ons or extras you would put in the house. Thanks in advance.

If you care about fit and finish ice castle would be the last I looked at. They function and do what they are supposed to but the craftsmanship or lack of it on the inside shows.

I would recommend glacier i was in the market for one when I moved out to the oilfields right before the crash and I looked at both and the glacier was by far the better deal

    King Dinger,

I am linked to Ice Country Fish Houses, and think you should take a look at them. They offer an incredibly nice house at a similar price point to Glacier. It’s a galvanized steel frame, and aluminum structure bolted to the frame with a barrier to stop galvanic corrosion. No rust on frame, and rot free structure. They also have an off road suspension, and incredible warranty. I’ve done a lot of research on houses, and I feel like they make the best house on the market, with Custom Cottages right next to them. Here is a link to their facebook page and website. Let me know if you want more information.

Good luck on your search for a nice house, Ice Castle has been known to lack on quality work, but Smokey Hills can do custom interior work so you end up with exactly what you want with great quality. The Glaciers are also really nice houses I got to fish out of one last winter and they have great craftsmanship inside. Elite Premium, Big Bite, and Lodge are some other brands that get overlooked. Again, hope you find what you’re looking for.

    Bring back an old thread.

    King Dinger,

What did you end up buying? I am looking into custom builds and like the Ice Country but my wife likes the Ice Castle Trophy Hunter. Do you like what you got or would you do it differently. Thanks

Not sure why you say that. Ice castle didn’t get to where they are buy building crap. sure you an find issues but I can find issue with every manufacturer. they have been nothing but stellar to deal with. For what people spend on a house the value has been shown over and over again. otherwise it wouldn’t be the most popular option. I have friends with other brands, yeti, glacier and etc. all have had issues some extensive. Winter is hard on anything so would to have problems. To throw what you had experience with years ago or whatever is not relevant. there are many small manufacturers out there that build good houses and will still have issue. Resale the best option would be Ice Castle.

I’d take a serious look at Team Lodge fish houses manufactured in Brookings, SD. You can buy factory direct. Not mass produced, attention to detail is top notch.

I have a Lodge Jr. I did a lot of looking around and found these to be the best built units. Pulls great, sets up super easy and quick, sleeps awesome, 8 holes along with all the planning those guys fit into the design and layout. I added AC to the build for camping plus i haul a 4 wheeler as well.
It comes home each time we are out so its has miles on it after 2 years and I havent had a single issue with it. the cedar paneling VS tongue and groove is a big plus

Best money i spent for fun!!! I would at least give them a chance
