I hate listening to my neighbors little mutts barking when I walk by. But I wont be going on social media to whine about it.

Agree, not much more I hate is them ankle biting little yappers. mad

My neighbor walked over and asked if I’d tune it down a little he could hear zepplin clear as day in his garage.

Too bad for him if he doesn’t like Led Zeppelin… mrgreen

Whether it’s wake boats harming the shoreline and disrupting others or loud bikes and sleds disrupting others it all points back to the selfish ahos operating them.

An hour ago you said “your well being is not my responsibility” regarding masks. Your shoreline is not my responsibility. Your quiet calm is not my responsibility. You say something like that and then have the nerve to call other people selfish a-holes?

(I know, I know different thread, broke all kinds of rules. Couldn’t help it)

How come the guys that drive the tuna boats on the river don’t know how to get their boat on plane. I don’t know how many guys I see with the bow pointing to the sky and ass end dragging. At least the wake boat guys mean to throw the wake.

My feeling is those “tuna Boats” are on larger bodies of waters that they were designed for. The wake boats are on the other hand are on running on bodies of water that are too small, their waves never get a chance to disperse before hitting shorelines, smaller the lake, the more boat traffic in a confined area, the more chance of someone getting tipped or thrown from their boat.

I see the point here but there’s a reason they go no wake on the st Croix. Damage is likely greater on small lakes but the volume of boat traffic on big bodies probably equalizes it.

The closest I’ve ever come to being swamped is on the river. I don’t spend a ton of time on small recreational lakes though.

To BK’s point…I was being a little facetious but it’s usually the 23’ boat, not the larger cruisers anyways. You slowing down for the fishing boats is kinda the same as me slowing down for kayakers. Courtesy sure goes along ways in my book.

Apparently you’re single minded obsession with masks and pandemics is something that you cannot help yourself with. There are four pages of comments here and you’re only post is to call someone out about masks. So apparently you’re only interest in perusing other threads is to work in a mask and or pandemic comment. Why didn’t you respond to Suzuki in the thread where he made the original comment rather than drag the mask discussion into this one?

There is a mask and a covid thread where you and others have been doing a exemplary job of beating both subjects to death. Please put forth a effort and see if you can’t help yourself from being a selfish aho by not trolling other threads.

Ice cap, I agree and I am sorry for crossing threads. Reading a post about “I am not wearing a mask because your health is not my responsibility” followed by a post about people being a-holes if they don’t respect other people’s quiet and property was too much irony and hypocrisy. I will try and exercise more restraint

LOL! Not much of a wake in the office but no chance of catching a fish either.

Unless I count the canned smoked salmon I have hidden from the thieves around here. )

Flying down the road you don’t get the exhaust sound screaming in your ears. Its for the wind.
And if you talk to any one who rides i bet more then half have had to rev at some one who was cutting in to them that didn’t notice them. So on a bike some times loud pipes do save lives. If i new where you lived i come over and let you take a listen

There was someone they were calling “Hole saw Harry” a year or so ago on the southern reservoirs, armed with a cordless drill and a hole saw he had his own way of dealing with wake boats, Never did hear if he was ever caught.

Wisconsin has lakes with “NO Wake” rules. I don’t know how they enforce this, but if they (Sheriff Dept, DNR) can, they will. A good place for the face mask comments is elsewhere. Here, it’s inflammatory, and a waste of time.

I like fishing those small no-wake lakes in sconny. Fished a new one last week near my cabin. Always peaceful on them.

Ear plugs are for wind. I have a loud bike but the exhaust is not an issue. It’s the wind in your ears. I’ve also revved it up to stop someone from cutting me off.

There is a lot of talk about wake surfing boats wrecking shore line. What about all the shore lines that are altered to suit the home owner? If they were left alone there would in most cases be a natural buffer with the weeds and cat tails.

Not good enough. Tsunami waves destroy those too.

The only altering that has to be done is adding rocks and boulders that can tolerate erosion.

I live in NW Wisconsin, wake boats run here all the time and I never have seen a DNR boat ever stop one of them.

    Exactly…

Big windswept lakes have naturally occurring tsunami waves constantly, and as expected their “natural” shoreline is already comprised of boulders and rocks.

I’m surprised no one has contacted the Corp of Engineers.

They have free sand and are building islands on Pool 4 just for wind erosion/wakes, birds and because they don’t know what else to do with it.

Off topic but if you liked fishing Katrina or Bay City flats, you might want to start searching out new areas now.
