I’ve been strictly walleye for several years. My buddy took me trout fishing on a small stream here near La Crosse. I have to say, I’m hooked. What a blast.

I want to get some fly spinners so I can go out on my own. What size and colors should I be I be looking for? I’ll be primarily fishing places like the Kickapoo or small brooks in pastures. Any other lures I should look into?

I used to fish the Kickapoo all the time. Medium sized original floating raps are good if you’re looking for big fish.

#6 bait holder hook and split shot sinker. Top that with a night crawler and you will have all the trout you need. They are awesome eating. Brook trout are the best. Browns smoked are awesome. The bigger browns are better, easier too take the meat off the bones.

Good luck, stream trout fishing is awesome!
