New to the Mississippi

    Hello!

I just moved to the state for work and brought my boat with me. I fished for years on the Detroit River for Walleye. I am getting my boat ready for the first spring launch in the Mississippi, planning on trying Pool 4 for the first time. I am aware of the wing dams and cans, and have electronics with Lakemaster. I have 2 questions before I launch, and maybe you guys can help me out.

#1- Does Lakemaster Chip give you a good idea of the potential hazards?

#2-At what discharge CFS does the river become to high for “enjoyable” navigation and fishing (I am sure there is varying thoughts on this, but keep in mind that I am new to the river- very familiar with my 16′ Lund Tyee and 90hp; but still new to the river)?

Thanks for the help, I look forward to posting more as I get fishing here. In Michigan we have “Michigan Sportsman Forum,” which was always enjoyable to be part of the online fishing community there.

    Cheers!
