    Hi all, my fiance and I just moved out to the Marine on St. Croix area.

    Kind of a weird question, but I am wondering if anyone would mind if I tagged along walleye fishing with you on the St. Croix? Closer to Marine the better, but I don’t mind driving.

    My dad and I have a boat that we keep at our cabin on Mille Lacs, and I am left boat-less while here at home. I have been out in the kayak a couple times and I am killing the White Bass, which is fun, but I’d much prefer to catch walleye. I grew up fishing Pool 4, pulling cranks, 3-ways, and Dubuque rigs; but am having a hard time getting on a walleye bite on the St. Croix around Marine, especially being in the kayak. I’ve tried drifting with jigs, but the part of the river I’m on is absolutely full of snags. It’s also a little tricky never knowing the depth as I’m constantly drifting along.

    I work in Financial Technology, usually in downtown MPLS, but have been working from home until for the last couple weeks. My day usually ends about 4pm, so I try to get out on weeknights after 4, but on the weekends I’ll usually be at Mille Lacs.

    I can bring all the bait, beer, food, gas, steak dinners, and Mille Lacs secrets you would like, lol. I’m experienced enough you won’t have to babysit and have all my own tackle, rods, etc… just looking for a empty seat or two if the fiance wants to tag along and you have the space.

    TLDR; please take me walleye fishing.

    I don’t think someone is gonna take a random person from an outdoor forum in their boat during a pandemic Brady. I’m sure you could find someone in another era, but this one has serious risk.

    I close on my new house up near Osceola in a month, so after we get settled up there we could figure something out. I’ve never fished the Croix and I mostly fish muskie/pike/bass, but I give eyes a shot every once-in-a-while. I have an ’87 16′ Lunker DLX that I rebuilt, so the skinny water on the northern sections of the river should be doable. Rules include no smoking, don’t hook the German Shepherd (he’s not always the brightest), and the person in the front has to stow and deploy the trolling motor. I’ll be just a couple minutes from the Osceola landing, so I’m planning to start off learning around that area.

    @gimruis, thanks for your concern.

    , I’ll send you a P.M. I’m about 15 minutes from that landing and I just picked up a whole bunch of musky tackle last year. I don’t smoke, my fiances dog actively tries to get hooked and hasn’t yet, so that shouldn’t be an issue and I can be the dedicated stow and deploy guy. Thanks for the response.
