New to area

    I recently moved to the Duluth area and was excited to see guys fishing Lake Superior today. I want in on that. Was wondering if anyone had any tips/advice as to what a guy would use to catch fish out there? How deep and what they all fish for? It looks like a lot of fun. Any tips are much appreciated. Thanks

    Yup I’m definitely going to try and get out there. I think may need a bigger rod. Thanks biggill. I will stop in mg for sure.

    They’ll be better than any source here that’s for sure. Get there soon because they will sell out of all of their laker rods when there’s fishable ice. Get something 40+ inches in length.

    If you’ve watched local news up here last few days they’ve been showing footage of those couple doing it and blasting them. I was in MG yesterday and they were saying the guys were idiots. Open water less than 100 yds from shore and an off shore wind. Not a good idea. Wait for more ice. I’m new to Duluth area too so if you want to get out together sometime let me know.

    I was just talking to a buddy today about that and said I’m only going if I know it’s safe I’m not gonna be that guy that makes the news getting pulled off on an air boat and that’s the best outcome if something bad were to happen. Saturday and Sunday there was a lot of ice out there and then poof Monday a lot was gone. A person really has to pay attention and fish when the time is right. I’m definitely not in a rush. Going to mg tomorrow to look around and bs with them guys for sure.
