My friends new 15 is awesome, set up very well, runs and starts smooth, sips gas. Nice that these motor manufactures are making smaller motors with fuel injection-the battery for the injector is built in- My only complaint is the throttle is super senitive, wonder if their is a tensioner screw or something. Thanks

My dad’s 20hp is freaking awesome. I’ve ran it alot. Something ain’t right if it’s sticky, I have zero issues with that motor.

I have been hoping my old 15 Evinrude would die so I can get a 15 or 20 Zuke. I use it so seldom that I can’t justify replacing it until then.

Waiting for an old 15 evinrude is a long wait… I have one older than me, that’s been abused much more severely than i have ever been, and it still goes…

    B. its not sticky its really sensitive so it ‘gooses’ very easily and is a bit tricky maintaining a steady trolling speed. Because the motor is in its break in period we decided to just run it the whole trip-that thing ran for hours, fighting current, we used a little more than a quarter of his 2.5 gallon tank.

Have you flipped up the handle to see the adjuster knob on bottom? I think that’s where it is, haven’t adjusted it for awhile.

Mine did the same thing. I got “used”to it and could mitigate it somewhat. Never tried to adjust it.

I have a 9.9 zuke and mine is like this as well. I’ve just sort of gotten used to it. I have played with thr tensioner but I’ve found it doesn’t hold very well so I’ve just become accustomed to it. Sometimes I try to put a positive spin on it and tell myself that when my hand slips and I juice it ot it slows down the fluctuating speeds give a slight change in presentation which might help trigger a bite.

Have you or anyone tried it out with a trollmaster or I-troll on it? They should have the capability to fine tune the RPMS down to very subtle adjustments.

    I like this thinking.

    B. did you look at the owners manuel! That’s cheating! Seriously, I was hoping their was a tensioner like that, sounds like maybe it does’nt hold well but we will see. I have used the rpm controller works great!

These are the only way to go with helm controlled motors. By buddy recently bought one for his tiller controlled boat and said it can’t be connected. I have the trollmaster on my kicker and love it.
