New soft plastic lure ideas that caught fish in different lakes (2019)

As anyone knows me by my posts as senkosam or spoonminnow, my emphasis is usually on lure modification or design. Fortunately it’s paid off as usual with over 100 fish caught on unique designs this year alone. More than just catching fish is proving or disproving old wisdom and new concepts as well as comparing catch rates between the old classic lures and my own.
Concept #1: clear lures catch fish even when part of a lure is made from clear plastic
Here are some examples of fish caught today on clear or semi-clear lures:

The crappy measure 13.5″. Another was caught on the second cast that measured a foot.

Bluegills and bass got into the act with clear body or tail grubs:

A Crappie Magnet grub tail in chartreuse was added to a clear body and did very well:

    and this 2 lb catfish:

I wanted to see how well my mini-wacky sticks would work in this lake as compared to another where it worked great (note clear plastic):

This +3 lb sucker pulled drag after getting hooked on this Crappie Magnet:

All were caught in the same lake, one that I never fished before this year.

I don’t care what they say about you spoon man, ur alright. Far too analytical but someone’s got to be right?!

Still wish I had your quote in my posts, was a good one. Far too lazy to look it up.

Just part of my obsession. You should try some of my lures, you might be very surprised how well they catch different species and fish of all sizes. (Currently my largest is a 7.5lb.channel cat.) Guess I just got tired of buying the same ol lures that didn’t produce when the bite got tough, so I came up with my own and figured out why they do so well.

The small lake these were caught is heavily fished and once the bite goes dead, forget about it. Finesse fishing isn’t for everyone – requiring the right gear and touch/feel for the light strikes. Of course location patterns are everything – can’t find them/can’t catch them, but once I do FISH ON!

    Thanks Tim
In my world lure variety is the spice of fishing. No way I could cast the same lures day after day though I do make lures that each could catch fish day after day. You can’t but help learn what fish bite more often regarding colors that do well with certain design shapes and various lure actions that provoke bites. Exactly why they provoke fish will always be a mystery that intrigues.
