It’s time for a new phone and it has been probably 4 years since I have looked at the new phones. I have always preferred Android based phones over IPhone so I won’t be looking at any of them. They have $200 off either droid through the month. Any suggestions on either one or another Android based phone? My only internet use is on my phone if that would make any difference.

Really happy with my Nexus 6p. If you’re not married to the Droid/Motorola lineup, most reviews say the 6p is the best thing going right now.
Good review of the phones in question plus the author has lots of other great posts/articles on his blog, too. Good luck with what you decide.

December 3, 2015 at 5:55 pm #1581798I have the turbo 2. RUNAWAY from it. They have already “replaced” it 2 months in with a refurbished unit (BS) and it still is horrible. Drops calls non stop, loses signal alot, has less signal in places like my home than before. (1-2 bars at home vs full with previous verizon droid) My boss has had totally different issues with his, enough that he outright bought a DIFFERENT phone at full price…. the original droid was my best phone ever, now the droid 2 is my WORST phone/phones ever.

December 3, 2015 at 6:32 pm #1581810I’ve had a turbo 2 for about a month and absolutely love it. Turbo charge is great, but the features I like the most are the long lasting battery, the moto voice that knows when I’m driving, or responds to me even when the screen is off, and the shake on flashlight along with twist on flashlight. It also still takes micro SD cards for additional storage. The WiFi receiver had admittedly been a little spotty.
I’m at 81% battery after 12 hours of normal use, I think that is pretty good.
December 3, 2015 at 7:10 pm #1581823I ended up going with a turbo2. My plan was to just look tonight but I decided I needed to do something before my old razr died for good.

My wife and kids are apple people yet my phone always is the goto for stuff. The shakey flashlight is priceless, and the camera shake is cool.
December 4, 2015 at 8:14 am #1581957Are you set on a choice between those two? If not, I highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy S series. I believe I have the S5. It’s an Andriod system and it’s a good sized phone. Not giant like the newest iPhones but big enough that you can browse the web without too much finickiness.
December 4, 2015 at 8:38 am #1581969Samsung S6 or LG G4 or V10. I wouldn’t trust anything with Motorola on it these days….
December 4, 2015 at 10:59 pm #1582196I switched to the Motorola because of the issues I had with my LG G2. I loved the phone, but Lollipop was forced into my phone by a mandatory update in April. This instantly cut my battery life by about 80%, rendering my phone virtually useless. It’s a known issue, neither Verizon or LG made any attempt over 7 months to put out a fix. My WiFi also turned to crap.
Like I said, I loved the phone, but that turned me off to LG big time. Plus, I got the turbo 2 for $300. It’s been great so far. I left this morning at 6am to fish, it’s 11pm now and I have 65% battery left.
December 5, 2015 at 4:51 am #1582203Turbo 2 has the 5 layer “unbreakable” screens
They told me about the shatter proof screen and also told me there was one free replacement.
Battery life seems great so far but charging with anything other then the turbo charger does not work is what I noticed so far. Do they have a different car charger that you know of?December 5, 2015 at 7:03 am #1582211I used the same old car charger I’ve always used. It was slow though.
December 5, 2015 at 7:56 am #1582217I started on Motorola Droids, but now I have had Samsung Galaxy phones. I currently use the note 4. Before that it was Galaxy S 3 or 4, I forget which one.
The only issue I had with my previous phone was touchwiz, Samsung’s custom homescreen/UI. With the not it isn’t a problem. I even switched back after trying Androids stock homescreen.
