New PB at 46”. First time using a sucker. I can definitely see the draw to that.

What do you guys do with the sucker after it’s been used? Are you supposed to take it home with you or what?

    Congrats. Nice fish.

Was the sucker dead or just tore up? With the cost of them, I would use it until it can’t swim right. Then I would keep it in livewell in case I don’t have any good minnows left. I probably shouldn’t say this online, but if the minnows are dead, I will feed them to the turtles or otters or whatever else wants to eat it.

Precisely the reason I don’t use those big decoy suckers anymore. The cost is outrageous. Like 12-15 bucks each. Plus if it dies or can’t swim anymore, its useless. I know it can be effective but I also find it very boring. Its like waiting for JAWS. Can we go home now?

    Nice fish Tom.

MN State Law requires you to trash minnows properly. Tossing them back into the lake is illegal. If its still alive and you want to save it, you need to use your own water to haul it, not lake water. I am not sure what the law in WI is.

Thank you for the responses. I took it home and threw it in the freezer. I figured it wasn’t legal to toss in the lake but wanted to make sure.

BK I can be your frozen cut bait contact 😂

    Yeah,
Ya wouldn’t want to throw a dead minnow back in the lake.
I believe when a fish knows its their time they typically jump out of the lake and into the trash can by the landing to “self” dispose.

    Nice fish Tom!

    Tom,
You inspired me. I’m heading out now, hopefully to start my own PB thread.
