The new MN State Park license plate designs are here and you can vote for one of three! Voting ends July 5th and the new license plate will be available this Fall.

Individuals who purchase the plate make an annual contribution to a special state fund used to support our parks and trails. The license plate also gives you free entry to ANY Minnesota state park or recreation area for the year!

    http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/parksplate/index.html

“The new license plates will be available in October as part of the ongoing celebration of Minnesota state parks and trails’ 125th anniversary. The cost of the new plates will start at $60, plus tax. This total includes a one-time $10 fee for the plate itself and a minimum $50 contribution (renewable annually). The plates provide their owners with unlimited access to all 75 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas for the year, replacing the need for a vehicle permit (a $25 value). Proceeds from license plate sales will benefit Minnesota state parks and trails.”

I voted. It’s a neat idea, and it would save me the hassle of forgetting that my sticker expired. Problem is, I only have two vehicle, so if I have fishing plates on one and pheasant plates on the other, I can’t get the state park plates!

I like the idea because you don’t have to have a sticker on your windshield that needs the jaws of life to remove each year. smash What kind of glue do they put on those?? But yeah they does mean you can’t have the fishing or pheasant plates. I really like the deer and the chickadee plates, as well, so I’m not sure what I’ll end up with here. I would love the have the chickadee on the front of my car and the pheasant on the back, but I’m sure they don’t let you do that.

Yeah, those stickers suck to remove, and you have to put it in the most awkward location on your windshield!

X2, hate taking those things off. I voted for my favorite and will likely get one when my truck tabs renew next spring.

Darnit! Now I need to put these plates on my truck. Right now I have the Support the troops on my truck and the Angler plate on my car…I’m with Sharon, can’t we have one of each on our vehicle?!

At least we don’t have the plate options that FL has…I would spend weeks deciding…

I hate any kind of sticker on my window so what I did was cut out a small square off a clear plastic container. It could be anything from a grocery item to a packaging from a toy. Then I took the park sticker and stuck it to that. I put it in my glovebox when I dont need it and set it on my dash when I do. Works great and you can forget having to scrub your window.
