Cabelas Saskatchewan boots are incredibly warm and my feet don’t get wet from sweating. They’re waterproof too and I’ve never needed to wear wool socks. They really suck to walk in though. Especially through deeper snow while carrying or pulling something heavy

Got my Baffin Apex from Shoes.com. The size 13, my normal size, was pretty snug. With all the cushion in there I could have gotten by, but they were pretty snug. I took a chance and called customer service and asked if by chance they had a size 14. Low and behold they did. I was able to return the 13s and ordered the 14s. They had another sale code so I still got the 25% off. Made the exchange st no cost to me. yay

Cabela’s Trans Alaskans are the warmest boots I’ve ever owned. Just like the Baffin’s you need to go up a size.

I just received a New Pair of Baffin Impacts. I wear 11.5 Wide so I order Size 13 to really make sure I had room. I tried them on and it feels like my foot is in a vice grip. Can anyone speak about these boots and specifically the break in period. My 1st impression is that they have to go back.

I just got the impact’s size 14. same thing, very snug. hard to believe a size 14 is too small. I usually wear a size 11 or 12 and I have a wide foot.
same question on If the liner will relax. what’s your experience with these?

I have Baffin Control Max and went full size up, they fit perfect and would recommend them. After a day of wearing most Baffin’s they conform to your feet in my experience. A tip is to wear a thin liner sock in them no need for big socks the liner wicks and your feet will come out bone dry every time

Hands down Korkers. Can’t beat using spiked soles, don’t have to try and get those “other” brands of spikes over the boot, and it doesn’t feel like you’re walking with “pegs” stuck to your boot. Warmest and lightest boot I have worn, now I just wear a pair of Smartwool light hiking socks, never had an issue with cold feet. No laces with the BOA system, easy on/off.

Just got the Korkers. Haven’t tried them on the ice yet. What got my attention was a review. The guy had bad knees like me. My current boots were difficult to get on an off. At times painful if my knees were sore. The review said easy to put on and get off. Ordered them and was going to send back if those things didn’t hold true. They slip right on and come off easy. The BOA system is fast and easy. They are a little stiff like ski boots but not as stiff. I believe they will loosen up and get more flexible with some use. Love the carbide studs on the soles. I always use some kind of studding. Now it is there all the time and not overly aggressive. Better for my knees.

Baffin Eigers. Easy to walk in but cannot drive wearing them. Order one size larger as noted above.

Not sure what to say other then I also have a wide foot and I have been wearing mine for years now and love them. I don’t recall feeling like I had to break them in, but it has been years. They are by far the best boot I have ever owned.

Gizmoguy – You won’t be disappointed, and yes they will loosen up after they have been worn. When wearing them, it feels like I am wearing tennis shoes, except a lot warmer.

Ended up Sending the Baffin Impacts back to shoes.com for a refund. To bulky, to narrow and tight and they don’t work well with my bibs at all. Nice boot just not for me. I was in Running today and Tried on the Lacrosse Alphaburly 1600. Pretty impressed. I thinking they’ll work for me. The Snow camo patterns is hard to find right now. Luckily Reed’s had a size 13 – I upped 1.5 over shoes size – 25% off and free shipping . NICE.

My favorite, MukLuks. I have Camuks and the Quetico tall, which is all moose hide; the latter I only use in the snow. They’re extremely lightweight, cozy warm, and great for not tracking snow into my IC. They’re like insulated slippers and I even leave them on when I sleep in the shack. They pretty much utilize an insulated liner and an insole. For those that want to increase warmth, you simply add another insole, but you need to order two sizes larger than your shoe size. Mine are one size larger to accommodate thick socks and I’ve never needed more than one insole.

Back when I had an office to go to, I’d even wear them to work on those snow days and keep them on when I got to work.

I use a Muck lace up boot. They look like pac boots, but are about half the weight. They always change models, just look for one with the 5mm neoprene, like the arctics. I wear a heavy sock and change every day to get rid of the sweat- with felt liners, sweat had somewhere to go, but then it condensed and froze in there, and would build up if you could not remove them and dry them out. With these, just put on new socks.

LaCrosse Alpha 1600, I’ve been wearing the past three (3) winter seasons. Dry, Warm, and Comfortable.

    Downfall of them.
Wearing them while driving is not comfortable & nor do I recommend.

Danner pronghorn 1200’s. They have a new style that’s narrower then their old model a few years back. I have the few year back model and they have been more than advertised. fished them in 6 inches of water more than a few times and not a drop. Never cold, never wet. Beautiful product.

I would not recommend the China made version,I have the thinner insulation model and pulled-off the loop you use to put them on.I believe the USA made ones are more sturdy than the import version.Had no choice, they were a gift.Should have returned them.
