    Looking for advice!

Haven’t hunted in years, first year back! Bow hunting only for now! I have Permission on some property surrounded by farm land. Have a small set of woods you’ll see in photo. Marked is the trail cam location and the other circled is my general permitted area to hunt… for a cpl weeks got some decent shots of shooter 2 shooter bucks, one 4 year old the other about 3 maybe 3 n half? Crap load of does! However the bucks showed up on July 4th, and haven’t seen my bucks back since July 9th… I have a protein block out that the cam is aimed at. I’m trying to stay out of there to not spook them any other than putting a new block up and swapping memory card out every week or so (randomly) Any tips, hints, etc to get a better idea of where they are or if they was just passing by or will be back? Thank you for any help~ LOCATION CENTRAL KENTUCKY

The only way to tell is to keep the cam up and running. Watch and wait.

I have this happen as well. Buck shows up out of the blue on a trail cam, is seen a couple of times, then disappears. Sometimes they show up again, sometimes not.

My guess is that sometimes deer get pushed out of their home area by dogs, coyotes, logging activity, farm activity, etc. Then we catch them on cams either working thier way back to their “home” cover or they have taken up residence for a while.

If they’re going to come back, you’ll see them at the mineral block again this time of year.

Thanks Grouse! Yeah hopefully they’re back Sept. 2nd lol (opening day Ha) any advice off picture of the terrain I included by chance? Open to all and any suggestions of land management with the limited area I have legal options to hunt at!

Not knowing the total size of the property but looking at it from your picture do you have the ability to put up another cam opposite side from your existing one? Just thinking maybe the deer are crossing the road at the curve and cutting back through the woods to the back field where they aren’t getting disturbed as much. Is that a creek that runs along the top of the picture? I’d think they might funnel down the left side into the backs of fields but without knowing what crops are planted it’s just a guess.
