New HP ratings for 2021?

Just thinking out loud, but with other manufacturers hitting the 400 mark, any guesses if the larger Warrior boats (203, 208, 21-21) will go to a 400 hp rating?

I’d like to see the 198 @ 250, but I don’t think that can happen with it being under 20’. I really like the Verado’s with the AMS and that’s only available down to 250.

    Have a good weekend!

A foot short and a few miles too slow. Enough is enough. We have enough. lol. cannot help but giggle.

It’s time we bumped the ratings and build some faster boats. This whole idea of walleye fishing being enjoyable without getting to a spot at 60mph is a joke.

If we can engineer it why not. Just think if Wright Brothers said that 34mph was fast enough??

It is cool, but we don’t need lakes full of drag boats just because we can engineer them. There’s enough hazards out there already! doah

If only we could all go back to my dad’s 1987 16’ Fish Hawk with a 30hp… Do they even sell 30hp’s anymore or just 230hp’s?

It’s not like its going to make a boat that’s already running a 350HP all of a sudden 10MPH faster. In reality you would see a 1-2MPH gain, maybe 3 depending on setup. I say skip the 400 rating and hang the 450 like Bass Cat did. Gun it and run it!

I’d admit that is a sweet looking ride. I like those videos on the Tube with the fishing derby and some guy with a hot rodded OB starts out back of the pack and just punches it. Decked out in full helmets. Hahaha. Looks scary actually the way the boat is oscillating at 90 mph or whatever. peace

    300 to 350 on a 621 is about a 5-6mph difference.

well, while you guys are drooling over the possibility of 400 plus horses in an outboard check out sevenmarine, thats an old mark for them.
however, with the need for lighter, faster, more powerful engines I have been contracted with a very well known producer of turbine engines.

we are testing the prototype now with a converted APU engine that produces over 800 HP at the power shaft, and we are using a very well known outboard manufactures drive housing and lower unit known for its bullet proof strength.
the entire package weighs less than 300 pounds with the power tilt/trim.

disclaimer, this is all BS,its friday night ya know !!

As soon as I get some kids off my lawn, I’m writing a nasty letter to those jokers down on Lafayette in St Paul about putting some speed bumps in lakes, speed limits and hp restrictions. What next, more comfortable boat seats, dryer rides, etc? Where does it end? Be nice to have a crapper setup for those questionable flatulence on a boat. Hate gambling on those. Most of the time you win. But man the times you lose, you really lose.

Back in my day…..what I used was better than the generation before, but now it’s to much. Just like it was for my old man at the age I am now. Weird? Go figure.

Just picked up this bad boy to repower my boat. Do you think I will need to reinforce my transom?

I personally would love to see a 25-50hp motor restriction on any lake smaller than 1500 acres. It’s just a dream but I’d love it.

That’s coming from a guy with a big boat and every bell and whistle…

I think I read that those use the block from a Cadillac car, so unless your boat is 40’ or more; maybe…
