A bit disappointed. I like it, but simply more power…nothing really NEW.

I’m intrigued by the new carbon line, but moreso because it drops the price of the Gen3 units by several hundred dollars.

The display is supposed to be better plus the “dual” sounder features of CHIRP, etc give better clarity.
I think Bluetooth is new on it as well.
It will be interesting to see what the new “future high-powered fish finding upgrades” are. -)

Definitely looking forward to the future. I was hoping for a NEW Gen device that competes, or leaps the technology that Garmin released with the Panoptix. A Live-Vu (I should trademark that) sounder that shows the fish moving and swimming is coming.

I am a member of Dive Team in SE MN and we recently took possession of a ROV with BlueView sonar mounted on it. Very cool. We can hover in one spot and watch fish (shaped like fish) swim by on the sonar screen. We watched a large school of carp swimming and eventually saw them on the camera and confirmed what they were.

As prices fall, and company can shrink it down to consumer use, this will be the next bend in the curve of fishing.

I agree on the Panoptix! Lowrance does have the spotlightscan, but that requires the transducer to pan to generate the readings, what Panoptix does is next level and super cool!

Only downfall of Spotlight scan is you have to have a cable drive trolling motor.
