New Electronics Mounts?

Looking for recommendations on electronic mounts for a pair of 12″ units in a tiller. Must be low profile so I can fish over them. Have used the large RAM’s in my last boat and would prefer to go in a different direction with this boat.

What are others using or have seen in use?

Stabil mounts get my vote. I tried everything to get my Cisco mounts to not move and I just couldn’t find a solution. My 12” units haven’t moved a hair since I made the change to Stabil units. Bill Shimota owns Stabil now and is a great guy to deal with as well!

I went away from the large Ram ball mounts several years ago. I just couldnt buy into the price for the premium mounts and went to two Ram Swing Arm mounts. They are fully adjustable and will not move. I have a Helix 12 on the bow and a Solix 12 on the console. Quite happy with the $59 mount.

Ted, on your boat, I believe you will find the Stabil to be perfect, others will work though.

On my 2090 I went with the 6” Balzout mounts. I did a mock up of different mounts before I decided which mount to go with. The Balzout had the most adjustability for me. If you sit in the tiller seat all the time while fishing the Cisco , Stabil type mount will be a great choice and save some money. When I troll Planer boards I sit or stand in center of boat and use the ulterra. So i turn both screens to front of boat. Works great. Congratulations on a great boat.

For those of you with Cisco mounts, did you put a backer plate of some sort on the underside of the console?

Does it matter if the mounting holes are side to side or front to back?

I will be mounting on a Lund Impact side console.

I have tried just about every mount on the market so far with 12″ and 16″ graphs. I personally did not like my Cisco’s at all. They’re rock solid mounts and I like the ease of taking everything off, but I could not for the life of me keep the set nut on the arm to stay tight. I tried lock tite and everything on mine. Worse thing possible in rough water to have that come loose and then a 16″ graph spinning into the windshield.

Ballzout was ok but couldn’t keep the bolt that holds them base into the arm in one piece. Had a couple of those break.

I made the switch to Fin Gears new mounts. Hands down the best mounts I have used yet. Stabil also makes a decent mount, but Fin Gear gets my vote.

Chris – please provide a web address for Fin Gear equipment. Google brings back a few hits but nothing fishing related.

    Thank you

Bumping this back up to the top . Mounting a helix 7 and 10 side by side on the dash of 2004 Crestliner superhawk . Should be a tight fit . Anyone know what length of mounts I need ?
