Trying to pick up a nice new jacket and pants set. No I don’t want to spend 400 on a single jacket nor pants, but I do want something that will be quality, quiet and weather proofish. I watch camo fire often and was going to pull the trigger on sitka gear today but damn my size was the only not available in both jacket and pants.
Any other leads on sale items or decent gear for a affordable price.

For colder weather I really like arctic shield myself. Still using my first set of bibs (since 2008) just replaced my parka 2 years ago. Original parka still warm but it was worn enough it was starting to make noise.

Well I totally understand not wanting to drop huge money into early season as its not really tough conditions. But man late season my sitka gear was worth every penny. I waited for sales but I have the fanatic jacket and bibs. Plus the fanatic hoody. I did also get the first lite furnance base layers to compliment it and man with that sit last night with the wind plus cold I was honestly pretty comfortable. Still was warm enough to draw great and its not bulky at all to layer. I wanted a good system to be able to get out on days I knew most wouldnt even consider. Not sure if you were looking for late season gear but I would buy it again.

Full disclaimer: I hate being the same as others and trendy. Sitka is nice stuff, no denying that. I had a jacket for late season hunting from before it was “mainstream cool”. Now Sitka accessories are everywhere. It seems like it’d fit in being sold at a Dicks Sporting Goods clothing store as casual fashion.

The Sitka jacket I have has seen better days, so I threw a random dart at some Badlands camouflage on sale and am content with my purchase

I should have specified I’m looking for more mid season type stuff. Early season I rock a Walmart hoodie and pants but I want a cold weather mid season for right before rifle. Mornings that get down to 20 but the afternoons might be 55. Late season I’ve been using my carhartts. Base layer keeps me solid. I was debating on warm sitka gear but I can’t spend 800 on jacket and bibs.
The more I read reviews on the fanatic set they do look awesome, I wish I wasn’t such a cheap ass. Hope to find a solid sale some day because they look awesome.

I am a big fan of my Kuiu Proximity pants and jacket. With the right layers I have hunted from 10 degrees to 50 degrees with it. I wear more solid colors when bow hunting now days. You can get the proximity in a solid color if you choose to.

Some other options that are out there are Code of Silence. Bill Winke is working with the guy to help design the system.

Another to look at is Huntworth clothing with heat boost.

I have had a set of onx articsheild since I started bow hunting 6-7years ago. It is plenty warm and not terribly bulky.

Mountain Archery usually has some good prices on Sitka and other gear. Can get some deals on ebay also.

Few years ago I got sick of being cold or having to go in midday.
I have a Sitka stratus jacket and pants. Good for mid season and use them for layers under my fanatic jacket and Incinerator bibs. I liked the stratus so much I bought another one in blaze orange, otherwise I wear a orange vest.
I also have one of their neck gaiters. This thing makes a huge difference
I decided I’d get one piece a year, as to not give the accountant at home a heart attack. Every piece I have has been bought on clearance or end of year sales. Mostly from reeds. The bibs were originally $600 and got them at their side walk sale for $300. The orange stratus was also 50% off this fall.
It might be spendy stuff but if you can find it on sale I feel it is worth the investment.

I went through a similar scenario as you BC watching camofire for great deals. Ended up getting a Nomad set of pants & coat that I’m happy with, use it for those mid range temps you mentioned then layered for colder. I also picked up a pair of mid-weight element outdoors pants that are my go to pants for just about the entire year. Even at normal pricing they aren’t to bad to the pocket book $100-$200 and have held up decent over the past 3-4 years with hunting here and Colorado. I have bought some First Lite gear recently as I’ve been looking to upgrade some stuff but that was 30-40% off during their sales. Awesome gear too
