New Boat, New Electronics

I bought a boat in December, without the chance of a test drive (northern state) and I am looking for input on the electronics and hunches on their purpose. The boat has an Xi5 up front that has Pinpoint and is attached to the NMEA bus that is fed to a Elite 7 and Elite 12. There is also a Lowrance puck on the back deck. I took it out for the first time last week (didn’t leak!) and the anchor function just spun the motor or the boat in circles. Maybe the system needs calibration. I suspect the rear puck to cause this but I don’t know where the back puck comes into play for anchoring. I hope that someone with knowledge of a similar setup could explain things further.

You should do a few things.

The calibration of the xi5 is done at the factory but I did have to re-do mine.
To do this set deploy the motor and steer it so that its pointing parallel to the keel of the boat.
Then hold the “M” and hit 1,1,2.

Then do the below: Having two people helps as well.

Deploy the trolling motor. Press and hold the “M” button and then press 1,1,1. You should here 3 beep tones (can be hard to hear). Then use your main engine to slowly drive the boat in two complete circles (clockwise). Once complete the trolling motor will Beep twice again. This is where its nice to have someone driving and someone up front to hear it.

After you do that go calibrate the Point-1.
