I am having a fueling issue. it will take 3 or 4 gallons and then the pump will click off. it takes about 30 minutes to put in 20 gallons. boat is has 26 hours and this has been an issue since day 1. hoping someone may know something. seems like a vapor lock dealer and manufacture don’t know what problem is.

    thanks

Do you have a warranty? Sounds like they acknowledged a problem. Use that as leverage and tell them to fix it or give you a boat that takes fuel properly.

If the fill port is large enough and is not obstructed, then your guess is as good as mine. Sounds like a manufacturing defect.

Typically, this is caused by fuel getting into the vent line. Think about it, you can’t add fuel to a tank if you can’t get the air out of it, what happens is that the vent line is either too long, or improperly routed, and has a “low” spot, which allows fuel to sit there, and block air flow.

From the pictures, I can’t see the fuel fill and fuel vent very well. If you could, as an experiment, blow compressed air into the vent outlet, hopefully clearing the vent line. Then try to fill the tank, and see if it improves. The vent line should not drop below the top surface of the tank.

If there is a removable panel over the tank, pull it off, and look at the hose routing.

next fill, take a level, and see if the boat floor while on the trailer is level. If nose-high, drop your hitch.

real pain, I have a 21 bass boat with fill on transom. if I pull into a station with the stern up at all fuel pressures in the bottom of a loop in the fuel line a kicks back out after a couple of gallons. if we are on the water for an extended period and have to fuel with 5gal cans I have to do the hose out of the can and down past the loop in fuel fill line to get it to fill tank. that is fairly easily done with closing off the mouth of the can with a rag along side of the 5/8 hose slipped into fuel, take a 1/4″ line stick it into the gas can but not into the gas and blow. that is the fastest way to empty out a 5gal can of gas. once the siphon takes hold stop blowing and let it siphon out the gas out of the can.
