I may have lost my mind folks, I sold Nautalund II to the business and it is now in the capable hands of Scenic who is a fellow member here.
He is going to completely overhaul her with new paint, new floor, new transom, vinyl, carpet, and other things I dont do here, once I get it back I will be hanging a new 115 Suzuki on her and using her for a demonstrator boat.
The problem is, shortly after we got back from vacation in June, this rolled in with a junk powerhead,,,, with only 82 hours on her, and the owner wasnt going to go back to 2 smoke power and wanted a new Suzuki on it.
That turned into an issue as it was going to be 80 percent of what he paid for it new 14 years ago,, and we bought it, see where this is heading?

Yep, new Suzuki 150 and this brought new issues to light, going from a 2 smoke to a big block 4 stroke, we gained 93 pounds in weight, no biggie, swap out the group 27 AGM batteries for lithium ones shedding 66 pounds and swapping out the group 27 AGM starting battery for a lead acid one saved me 10 pounds more, getting there!!
In working with my rep comparing this hull to a similar Ranger and same motor with this rig weighing 250 lbs less we should be tickling 63 to 65 MPH using a 15.5 x 26 pitch Suzuki water grip prop, scary to think that 70 is not out of the realm of possibilities, we shall see wont we??

By the way, this will be Sparklesonthewater’s boat,, dang it, lol!!
Anyhow, a few issues that needed addressed right away, damage to the hull, its in the capable hands of my glass guy Jeff at Wreck-A-Mended in Des Moines, I know it will be perfect when I get it back.
The jack plate, OMG!! 13 inch backset !!! and you wonder why I am trying to shed weight!!
I am not done rigging it yet, adding a trim gauge that didnt show up with the motor order, ( I forgot to add it ) otherwise she is about ready for the water.
So, new motor, gauges, cables, controller, prop, a bit of detailing, and before I forget, the previous owner in Feb of this year installed a new Ghost 24 volt trolling motor, HDS 9 and 10 inch mega side/down/you name it Lowrance graphs networked with the TM and NEMA to the old motor, I will install new NEMA for Suzie.

The jack plate, concerns me a bit with why its that big, I have an email sent off the original owner asking why the original 6 was replaced with this one.

Please welcome to the stable, a 2010 Phoenix Bee line 286 ProV sport.
Now we will have two demonstrator boats, one fish and ski, the other one?? I want to say water rocket but it will be our bass boat demonstrator boat.
AND NO EPG, no bullhead boats!!!

….its in the capable hands of my glass guy Jeff at Wreck-A-Mended in Des Moines..,

This guy deserves a Real Men of Genius Award. Just for the business name.

Sheldon is that new Suzuki fitted with the all fly by wire setup? That’s a really nice repower.

Grouse, I agree with you on Jeff’s business name!
No, fly by wire is about 3500 more to upgrade to, sure, its the modern thing but so many boats out there are older and the owners are trying to save money as it is, I stuck with the cable route to show them what can be done with what they have.
Bearcat, where the glass is broke is ahead of the transom area by about a foot, I will put up another pic of it.
As fresh as that area looks I am betting the owner panicked limping a dying motor back to the dock and didnt notice it with his mind on other things, or it could be it was something on the road caught it, who knows, I am just happy that it will be an easy fix, expensive, but easy….

    Our local bodyshop has the
“Wreck-A-Mended” on their business cards for about 30 years. Always thought it was a catchy phrase.

That motor is going to put the front bow of the boat pointing straight up towards the stars like a rocket ship…..

That’s gonna be a fun ride. Let me know when and I’ll bring some beer down for the test drive bud!
