What are your thoughts on the new X series? This is the new model that has the the offset transom (motor mount is recessed)? I briefly looked at a new Competitor 205X and Trophy 195X, but I guess it allows an extra 100+hp. The dealer also said he was able to plane much slower and it didn’t “slide” as much on sharp turns. My question is, where would you mount a transducer and where/how would you mount a kicker? Anyone buy one or test one out?

I think its a good idea. The problem is its the first generation and the company is for sale. So no clue on reliability yet would be my concern. Adding a kicker would be interesting.

In regards to transom mounted add-ons…..With the improvements in Bow Mount trolling motors and lithium batteries the need for a kicker and Vantage may be a thing of the past? The 205X Tiller has some cool new features that will add some value moving forward.

The few listings I have seen had pricing relatively close to inline with a comparable glass boat and at a premium vs. its main aluminum competitors.

I don’t care how many powerful lithium batteries it can carry but when you’re pulling a big spread in big waves there’s no substitute. I haven’t looked to closely at them but is it confirmed they can’t be fit with a kicker?
February 24, 2025 at 2:19 pm #2319597The one with the traditional outboard still is intriguing…especially in the tiller models. I would be a pass on any of the larger console models if a kicker isn’t an option.
The rotax version of any of them is a hard pass

The rear pods are designed so you still have the lower transom to mount all your transducers and stuff onto. It should fly with an option to hang 400hp on it.

Why isn’t a kicker a option ?

Going off the first handful of posts questioning if it was an option.
It looks like the image posted has one mounted though. If that’s an option then I’d give them a look
March 4, 2025 at 11:17 am #2321521I won’t be giving them a look because I’m not in the market. Maybe in 2050 i buy the 2025 model

I don’t like the looks of the dash, I like the flat top, just think it looks cheap. I don’t like the front deck size on the new competitors. I have a 2017 competitor 205 and the front deck is huge. It’s tiny in comparison on the new models and this is the main reason why i wouldn’t buy one.
Max hp on mine is 250, though it was rigged with a 200 when I found it and don’t really have any complaints. Goes 49-50mph and gets there fast enough. Not sure I would need/want one with a 350. That’s a lot of added cost if you’re still going to drive the same speed lol.
