Any one planning on getting a new bow with the 2025s being released ?
I was really excited to see what hoyt was going to come out with, but now that I’ve seen the alpha ax2 I’m pretty underwhelmed with the changes they made the the alpha x. The rx9 looks great but I expected a little more speed.
I’m waiting to see what mathews is going to drop on the 19th but as of now the 24 lift 33 is going to keep me happy.
Rumor has it the new lift will have better tune ability, but that’s just a rumor at this point.
I really want to check out the new elite exalt 35. That might be my new bow if I decide to trade mine in. I’m going to try and sneak in to the shop today and see if I can shoot one. I’m not a fan of shorter AtA bows so the 35 is really appealing. Love the 33 I shoot currently

RX9 looks great and all I read up on. My RX might be being traded in. Either way i’ll usually wait a year get a discount price on a year old bow.

Still almost two months until the ATA show. There will still be a few final tweeks done for release at the show. When I was repping, it was common for sales sheets to be finalized in the days prior to the show. I wouldn’t see everything for 25 as a done deal until Jan.

I really wanted the rx8 last year but it killed me my aluminum lift 33 was lighter then the carbon. This rx9 looks awesome tho.
Really wished they did more to change the alpha x a2, the upgrades just are kind of lame.
I’m hoping mathews changed the way to tune this year. Should be no bow press needed these days. I think for carbon pse is definitely killing that category

How does that work if the bow shops already have the 25s ?

I’ll be in the market next spring/early summer. Hoyt will be at the top of my list but will look at others. Been out of the game long enough to have little clue what’s out there. That RX9 Ultra looks pretty sweet but not so sure I’m willing to spend that much. I’m with you on the short ATA, 32-33″ is where I’d like to be. What gets me is the speed they are getting out of these bows without needing a crazy draw weight. Looks like I’ll be reading a lot of reviews this winter while recovering from shoulder work.

Watch a bunch of videos on actual speeds to what weight arrow you shoot. 340fps goes to 280 real fast.
Every one is on the short Ata for hunting, but I hunt tight trees and blinds often, the 33 has never once felt to long to shoot. The 28s 29s and what not just don’t hold good for me. Especially when shooting out doors at 70 to 100 yards. Which wouldn’t happen in a hunting situation but I shoot lots of 3d courses and out to 90 is pretty common.
The other thing I’m excited about but still waiting on is a new sight. I really want to order the new dialed prüf but now that axcel just dropped a new slider it really peaks my interest. I guess it’s time to wait and see what reviews I can see on you tube.

BC how often are you getting a new bow? Just curious. I bought my bow in 1993 and it still shoots fantastic. Its heavy as hell but it is damn fast, it was ahead of its time back in the day that is for sure. Proline Point Blank Wave or whatever with the carbon limbs. It was a noisy sucker until I stuck felt on everything. I havent bow hunted in years but told my kid to just use it because it shoots fantastic and no sense in paying North of $1000 for a new one.

It would be tough for me to consider upgrading my v3x. Super smooth and very comfortable behind it. It would be nice to try a new one out for fun though.

It depends on what side of the date line your on. What you see as the new 2025’s is the 2024’s. The new products released at ATA will be the products shipped summer of 25 which the consumer sees as the “2026” That 6-7 month offset in wholesale to retail cam make it confusing. If your into the lastest/greatest and want to see whats up ffor any changes, the wholesale show ATA in Indy is the place and time for a release. All the major retailers are there checking out and testing new equipment and placing their orders fo rthe next season. Its insane how many orders are placed in under 30 days of the show for the year

I bought a phase 4 in 23, lift 33 last fall at end of season and want a new one again if something peaks my interest. I gave the kid my phase 4 and I have the lift currently. I would like another bow so I always have a back up. I shoot alot and enjoy archery. After I gave Mason my phase 4 I no longer have to back up bow so I want to build a new bow just because 2 is better then 1 lol.

Im going to be in the market for a new bow this winter/spring. Have taken a 10 year hiatus from bow hunting with the business of life but excited to get back in the game. I know Matthews has a big following, but what are you guys having success with? Hoyt or Bowtech are probably going to be at the top of my list

I run a mathews lift 33. Had a phase 4 33 before that and a older hoyt before that.
I really tried to like a bowtech before I went to mathews but I just couldn’t, and hearing warranty claims being denied also make me look away from bowtech. I really liked the elite I shot a few years back but it’s draw cycle kind of sucked, and I hear it’s the same rough draw especially with performance mods
I liked the hoyt alpha x I shot but the lift shot better and held better for me. I really want to look at the new elite and also prime. I wouldn’t rule out any of them before shooting them for yourself.

I’ve been vehemently against Hoyts for quite a while but depending on how it shoots a grey RX9 might follow me home this coming year. I LOVE my Lift 29, but at least on paper that RX9 checks a lot of my boxes (other than MSRP doah ).

    Jake-

I would recommend going to a good bow shop that carries most or all of the major brands. Tell them you want to test shoot everything to see what feels the best. Try not to look at the brand on the bow when you shoot it. I did this and ended up with my Matthews but like handguns, different bows fit different people better

Perfect advice. I’m not married to a certain brand I just shot 5 or 6 bows and ended up mathews as well. The way they back their bows definitely helps as well for peace of mind. And it’ll suck the day I switch brands because everything i have is bridgelock and will be a spendy day to re buy everything

New mathews drop tomorrow morning, I’m working nights shift this week so I’ll be in the bow shop around the time they open to see what this lift x is about. I seen it was leaked over on archery talk. All new grip ( thank god) and no press tuning similar to elite. Sounds like different limbs as well. Not sure it’ll be enough of a upgrade to change what I’m shooting now. But while I’m in there I’m going to shoot the rx9 and pse mach 33. Maybe that new elite. But I kind of have a want for my spare bow to be carbon.

Well no press tuning, all new grips, looks like you get 3 or 4 and side plates, new designed limbs. Great upgrades for the lift, but not enough to trade in my my currently tuned lift for the lift x.
The new shale color is sexy though. I didn’t get to the shop this morning to shoot but I will tomorrow hopefully.

Going to try and hit up Archery Country in the morning and see if they have one of the Lift RS in stock to try out. if they do and I like it after shooting it I might end up trading off my Lift 33 that I have now. like the RS based on what I am seeing on paper but still want to shoot it in person before I make the switch. it is nice because to me it combines features of the Lift 29.5 and the Image from last year if you go with the lightweight limbs over the standard limbs. both of those were good bows but now you are able to have the two in one and have that 27.75 ATA. I like the idea of the short ATA for inside of ground blind and for up in tight trees. another plus is they are claiming a 353 FPS IBO Speed now out of this compact bow.

Mfjj wasn’t getting 330 out of the bow and said he was pretty disappointed with mathews speed ratings. But it kind of seems mathews is always a little exaggerant on their speed numbers. Other then that my hunting buddy really wants that 27.75 as well, me I won’t give up my 33. Was kinda hoping they made a 34 or 35. I hunt lots of tight spots and ground blinds and my 33 has fit in every situation. The 29.5 just didn’t hold well for me. But it is good to see mathews added the short Ata for guys. On a side note I seen a fb post a friend shared with me of a liftx with blown up limbs already. I’d like to hear the full story on that.

I am really digging the shale color and hoping i can get my mind away from buying another bow just for the color scheme. I’m also still liking the elite exalt and really want to get one in my hands.

I went to the shop over the weekend to shoot all the new bows… Ended up walking out with a very gently used FULLY loaded Lift 29.5 for a fraction of what the same setup would have cost if I did all of it myself. It came loaded to the gills with all of the top of the line accessories so I couldn’t pass it up. Even the bow tech couldn’t believe there wasn’t listed for another grand more.

What kind of goodies did it come with ?
Integrated rest or does it have the hamskea limb driven eplison? I went with the hamskea on my lift. As well I run the bridgelock stabilizer and I just sold my dialed sight, now debating between the tetra, or black gold hunter pro 3 pin, or the new dialed prüf

It came with the integrated QAD rest, one 10″ bridge lock stab, the low pro 5 arrow quiver, and a ultraview sight housing with a HHA Tetra frame. I am not sure which ultraview housing it is for sure. Haven’t read up on them much yet. It has the two stacked pins.

That’s a great set up. Over a grand in accessories alone. You’ll love the lift. Mines been flawless. And it helps for peace of mind that any lift is covered under warranty no matter if you bought it new or used. The splintering limbs scared alot of people but I have probably 2k arrows through mine and no issues at all. And my match string is still going strong

I am struggling to pull the string on the bridge lock side stab bracket along with the stab itself. $460 is a lot for something so simple….. but I have to match the rest of the bow so it’ll happen someday.

Browse archery talk classifieds. I just bought a side mount and bridgelock stab for under 250 shipped to my house. Got the 12 inch stab so I’ll run my 10 inch off the side.
I’ve never shot with a side bar, but I really wanted to try. So the used price on AT was way better then the new price

I’ve got the 2-pin Ryz right now that I really really like, but am considering going to the three pin next year. Three pin sliders are about the best setup out west IMO, and work just as well around here. The other sight I’ve got my eye on is that new Spot Hogg Boonie in a 3 pin.

I was between the boonie, black gold hunter pro hd, and this tetra x3. All I knew was i wanted 3 horizontal pins. I himed and hawed for the last month. And today found the hha at s&s archery in the sale section as a return item. It’s the .19g, .19y, .10g on a dove tail. I called to ask if it was mounted on a bow and they said it was never opened and it was on sale for 260 free shipping. So I decided I’d go that route. I am excited to get it. I sold my arxos earlier this week and don’t have a sight and it’s driving me nuts, the kid and I typically shoot every night

Yeah for that price BC you can’t afford NOT to buy it. I would have done the same!

I do know that after shooting multiple sights with vertical pins, I prefer horizontal pins. I’ll probably end up going with the whichever I get a better deal on between the Tetra x3 or the Boonie.
