The boys just called, they caught a bear cub in a foothold trap in the backyard…

Heading home in a minute….. Standby lol

That’s not good. I’d get the DNR involved in this one.

With a little luck it will pull free prior to you getting home.

    All went well peace

Didn’t want to attempt it myself, called the DNR and a couple wardens from Pine County came up to assist.

I made a quick plywood blocker board with a notch in the bottom and they asked me to bring a shotgun and slugs for backup mrgreen

One of the guys placed the board over it’s paw and they had me release it. Thankfully there was no mother bear to deal with lol

I’ll get some pics up after dinner and a shower

Holy cow very lucky situation for all involved! Your boys could have been in real danger if momma was lurking around. Makes you wonder where she was? Did she get shot or hit by car?

Isn’t it about time for that bear to start hibernating? Glad it went well for all, including the bear.

That’s what I thought, I think I filled my bird feeders too early this year and am going to be missing a few when I go back to cabin smash

What a great story Bman glad the boys are alright. Will you have them out in the stand in the next coming weeks? thinking we should get them together with my son next summer for some fishing.

Hank and Ben should write a series of youth outdoors books about their adventures.
