NEMA 2000 point one issues

So I installed a NEMA 2000 network with point one gps, hds 9 gen2 and hds 12 gen3. I can see the point one on the hds 9 gen2 and on the diagnostics screen it says “bus on”. On the hds 12 gen3 the point one says it is invalid and when I go to the diagnostics screen it says “bus off”. I have metered the nema cable at both locations and power is not the issue. I then tried to swap locations with the hds9 and hds12 and the problem followed the hds12 and the hds9 worked as suppose to. From doing this I believe the nema 2000 backbone is working as it should. I think its a programming issue or a software issue with the hds12. Any info would be great.

I was wondering the same thing. I’m installing a point 1 and NENA starter kit next week. I have 3 GEN 3 HDS units networked thru Ethernet. I would like to know if I can run the nema to one locator and network thru the Ethernet to he other ones

I found the issue to be a bad nema port on my hds gen 3.

I don’t think you can run point one thru ethernet connection. You will need to wire a nema 2000 backbone and have each hds tie into that network.

    Nema to each unit.

I just tried nema 2k to the console and then ethernet to the bow and it didn’t work. So yes you have to run nema to every device on your boat to see the point one.
