Neighbor's Dog

When your neighbor’s dog likes your house better than their own. This is Max. Just guessing, he weighs in at about 160+ pounds. If the garage door opens or I’m out front doing yard work, Max makes a mad sprint to our house. Some days when I’m in the man cave I can see him sitting on our front porch through my window. He gets some love here and an occasional snack. It’s like having a dog without having a dog.

    Sweet pup. Mastiff, right?

We used to have a Great Dane that absolutely love an elderly neighbor of ours. He like just about everyone, but man, he really could not get enough of our neighbor, Butch! waytogo

Right out of the movie, Sandlot. He is a sweetheart. People won’t approach him just because of his size. I think that he really appreciates the attention for that reason.

There’s an aggressive white German Shepard near my house in a fenced yard on the walking path. Somehow I became friends with him years ago and to my knowledge am the only one that can approach and pet him at the fence. I just have to keep my dog away because he hates other dogs. I dont think his owners even know about our “secret” relationship. My name for him is boy.

You get all the benefits, without the cost of feeding it!

Just make sure you or your neighbor hide that dog if the Minneapolis PD show up.

What a pretty dog! That’s nice that he comes to visit you. With so much negativity spreading like hot gossip at a beauty salon, thanks for sharing such a fun post. We need more like this.

This is a friend of my girlfriends dog. It’s only a 4 month old puppy and already bigger and friendlier than most full grown dogs.

    I believe it’s just called a WolfDog?

come on Dave,we all know why that dog comes over !!
we have seen several of your cooking shots, heck,I would come over too if it meant you were out smoking/cooking something lol

our next dog according to my wife,(ahem) is going to be either a bull mastiff or a Newfoundland, thats okay I guess as long as it brings back as many pheasants pound wise to what it eats in dog food, sheesh !
may have to move to the Dakotas in that case.

When my chocolate lab got old and I had to put him down, I could hardly lift him to get him to the vet. These big dogs would require a house call!

    Really?
Forgive my ignorance here since I live in Southern MN/Northern IA, but they aren’t allowed in the Twin Cities area?

I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to the goings on here lately in regards to police shooting dogs.

Since we’re talking mastiffs, here is my BIL’s Lucy, who is just over 1 year old (bottom position ) ). She’s a sweetheart. She “came into season” about a day after this photo was taken, which explains why my pup was trying to hump her incessantly. rotflol

LOL. At least Lucy is in heat, Mrs. Ferguson was fixed years ago. FYI – the little one is my wife’s dog, not mine! rotflol

Get one of these dog water fountains, but hook it up to the neighbors faucet.

We have some pretty good size Rainbird sprinklers with quite a bit of pressure. Max will come over and just put his mouth over the sprinkler head when they are on. It must give him a good teeth cleaning like a water pic.
