Unfortunately my busy schedule this last week didn’t allow me any time to try some fall full moon trolling. Instead, I got up a little early to hit the water Sunday. Rather than breaking out the trolling rods we decided to get out the jigging rods. This was the first time in a while that I had the jigging rods out on Nebraska waters. It was also the first time I used my new St.Croix Ledgend Extreme rod that Dean at Evert’s Resort hooked me up with. I tied up a 3/16 oz. jig and tipped it with a NEW white BFishN Tackle Authentix 4″ Moxi Ringle. This was also a first time for me using these brand new plastics here on Nebraska waters. They worked great and quickly put a plump fall walleye in the boat for me. We boated a few more eyes that morning and I look forward to this jig bite to get even better over the next few weeks.

Sorry about the poor picture. We turned the good camera on only to find out it needed new batteries, so we settled for a cell phone picture.

    Nice

A couple quick ?s if you don’t mind.

My last two trips trolling (daytime) haven’t gone so well after a very good September. I have one trip left (this weekend). So is it worth going in the dark? Do they move shallower at night?

Give the night trolling a shot Matt. You might be suprized what you catch. My expierence the last several years of doing this has paid off with some decent sized fish caught. You don’t normally see a lot of numbers and eater sized fish, but it can and does happen if you put the time in. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks Ben, I will probably go Saturday afternoon and fish into the night. At least then I might have an idea of the areas holding fish prior to the darkness. I have been able to find places holding fish lately I just can’t get them to consistently bite. Maybe at night they will fire up.
