I was wondering if anyone on the forum has added hummingbird si to their setup along with lowrance electronics. I would like to try si out but I am hesitant to spend the money if it is going to cause problems (lots of static??) with my lowrace unit.

    Any help would be great.

I think they will work fine with Lowrance units on the boat. The tranducers run at different frequincies so interferance shouldn’t be a problem. The only thing is tranducer placement on the back of the boat. If you have 2 transducers on the back you need to make sure the Lowrance tranducer doesn’t interfere with the Hummingbird. Since the HB shoots to the side, you can’t have anything blocking its path. Does that make sense?

I ran a 25C and a 797-SI on my crestliner. There is some “down looking” interference that can be eliminated by switching the SI transducer to “side looking” only. That will eliminate the 200 kHz frequency that the HB uses to look down, while maintaining the other side freqs. That will give you a clean down-look from the Lowrance and, of course, a clean side view from the HB.

I have run a side scan with my lowrance since they first hit the market, follow jasons directions and you will have no problems. The only time I have problems is when Im useing my trolling motar to steer while Im running cranks useing the kicker for thrust, the clarity seems to disapate a little.

I run a 1197 in back and a lcx 112 in front no issues for me. Love both units. just keep the gps modules a few feet apart. Yuop can put a y cable and add a high speed ducer to use the humminbird in side and down view same time.

I agree with the above posters. We have had a number of customers run the SI units along with a Lowrance and they report great results!
