First things first my son graduated HUnter Safety this weekend, and made me promise to get him out turkey hunting very soon. On to the fishing report….
After the crappy weather this weekend I was dying to get out and wet a line. I managed to convince the wife that today would be a far better day than to wait till tomorrow. I did tell her to bundle up though.
We put the boat in and checked the surface temp. Saw it had dropped to 51.3. I knew that I was going to have to find some warmer water if only by a couple of degrees. I caught the first Pike about 20 minutes after launching. I noticed he had hit after a long pause (was actually talking to the wife) hmmmmm. I thought.
Then went the next hour and half with no strikes, follows nothing..
Decided to go adventuring back into a windblown bay and man am I glad i did. The next 3 hours put 14 more pike in the boat. Had several followers and a few missed fish as well. One, a 31incher smacked the bait right at boatside and actually about landed in the boat on the intial strike. I pooped myself, it was cool… Most fish were between 23-28 inches with a few over and a few under. Anyways here are some pics hope you enjoy em..
