Missouri River Nebraska/SD Smallie Guide Needed

I got an email requesting a guide:

“My family (mom & dad, my wife and daughter, and my brother’s family) have reservations to stay this upcoming weekend at a cabin just across the river and a little downstream from Niobrara, NE. I’ll be coming from Iowa City, IA, but the rest of my family live down in Omaha. We mainly want to fish for smallmouth (artificials only, C&R), but we are having trouble lining up a guide(s) who services that stretch of the river. Since we don’t have a boat (although I’m planning to bring either a canoe or kayak), a guide with a solid boat or a rental service on Lewis & Clark Lake or up at Pickstown (pref. Lewis & Clark) is just about a necessity for getting into any fish on that reach of the Missouri. Do you have any recommendations for any guide services or know of any boat liveries in the area? Are there any tournament anglers around who are familiar with fishing on the National Recreation River portion and who would be willing to guide for hire?”

If anyone has information for this person, please PM me or post it here and I’ll pass it on. Thanks!

Bruce Pitzer 84405 527th Ave. Oakdale, NE (402)776-2537 guides on that section of the river all the time. I think he gets more people interested in some fish for the table but he use to be in my bass club and knows smallies. I even check with him at times to see if he’s been on any up there. If they’re looking for an actual guide Bruce is use to taking people fishing on that part of the river all the time.

I’ve never guided but spend a lot of time chase’n smallies up there and have the weekend open. Depending on what they’ve got in mind I might be able to help out??? If Pitzer’s full I’d have room for 1 or 2. Sounds like they’re staying at Running Water and there’s a boat ramp right there.

Thanks Fluff! I was hoping you’d know who to contact. I’ll give him your information too.
