Todd is a better man than me if he was able to find them in the coves The crappie that I was able to find were not in their spawning grounds yet. They were just off them in the deeper yet. Where did you find the shallow crappie at Todd? And what was the water temp in those areas? Thanks

As for the whites, I couldn’t find them at all I have no idea where they are at but I didn’t go to the west and if they are running up the channel to spawn, that could be the reason I couldn’t run them down.

Crappie will go this weekend for sure Water temp was 53 – 55 degrees on Saturday morning and should have no trouble making it into the lower 60’s by this weekend, see you up there

We had our best luck off of our dock, but with 15+ kids, it is easier to manage vs a boat. We by no means killed them, but we stayed occupied until 11:45 or so, and then it got too hot. Catch of the weekend came off a Tazmanian Devil pole. 28″ northern right below our feet! I was the 3rd person to get the rod(in about 5 seconds)and managed to land it. I did find a few on Saturday out on the lake. It was a lot of hopping around to find 1 or 2. Did not get up to the inlet as planned, but the whites should be up there. Zach is right, if the temps stay nice, they should be a go for next weekend!! Sherm

That sounds just like my Saturday only the snakes that I was catching were 13″ rather than 30″

Just got off the phone with my dad, who is up all week with his brother , and he said they are having good luck on the crappies. They would be doing better, but it is my uncles first time out with his boat for the year, and they are encountering all the usual problems . So, sounds like I will be making a trip up for Thur and Fri. Can’t wait to stare at a bobber with that open mouth fishing pose!!
