My isn’t going to make the trip down to Trenton this weekend but we will be fishing out of my buddy Jeremy’s boat. With a high of 68 and no wind, it is going to be a GREAT DAY on Saturday and even warmer on Sunday

No, TOO LONG Winter is fine with me as long as the cold is broken up by some warm and the water stays open Just because I get to go out on the boat this weekend doesn’t mean that you need to get your panties all in a bunch and try to attack my slightly warmer NE blood Thanks for taken time out of your day to come visit the NE forum You are welcome to come and hang out with all us good old NE boys anytime
March 16, 2007 at 6:30 pm #549759I have been trying to get ready for 3 days I think every thing is about done Ill have the boat out at Harlan thought about Trenton but I think dad might go Haran is like 5 miles from his house. They are saying 72 for a high Sunday.Ill get 3 days in and its back to the west coast Tuesday.
March 16, 2007 at 6:33 pm #549760My boat batteries are charged and ready to go on Saturday morning. I’ll be fishing at Dubuque seeing how the tailwater areas opened up to fishing again today. The channel is open (lots of ice flows) and so is at least one of the city ramps. The river is rising but it isn’t all that high and does not look to go over the islands in the near future. I think it is supposed to crest here at Dubuque in 3 or 4 days at just over 9 ft. Our flood stage here at Dubuque is 16 ft so we won’t be anywhere close to that mark at least for a while. The gates are still down on Lock & Dam #11. They seldom raise the gates out of the water here in Dubuque which helps if you are fishing the tailwater areas. My boat is ready. My tackle is ready. I’ve been suffering through a case of the flu this week but I seem to be on the mend so I’m hoping that i’m ready tomorrow morning.

March 16, 2007 at 8:15 pm #549794I’ll be hitting the Missouri River on Sunday.
Cal, Please send some of your ice my way. I’ll need it for my cocktail while I’m fishing in 60 degrees and sunshine…

March 17, 2007 at 6:08 am #549919I am still a couple weeks out from getting the boat on some water. Got some finish up work to do on some new play toys. I am pulling it out of the garage Sunday to wash it and put the muffs on and start the motors. Should have my splash guards the 1st of the week, put them on, and rip lips in about 2 weeks.
March 17, 2007 at 11:03 am #549925I was on BO yesterday from 11-6 and only caught a couple. Now I’m off to Sherman today and who knows what tomorrow will bring.
March 17, 2007 at 4:31 pm #549955I took the day off on Friday and enjoyed the day with castandblast in my boat. The Walleyes were not cooperating for us but we ended up with to cats. Mine was my 1st cat. I think I will be out on Sunday too!
Oh and I almost forgot…can’t beat one pull starts in the spring!!!!!!
March 17, 2007 at 10:51 pm #550006Well I wasn’t planning on going out today, but I said what the hell, it’s too nice to change oil or any crap like that!! So my dad and I took the Crestliner out to the canal today and I caught 48 crappies, he caught about a dozen. Some small ones, but some REAL nice ones mixed in too. Not bad for 4 hours work. I’ll have a report up later.
March 18, 2007 at 12:12 am #550014Nice job Brian, frontended your dad again. What is it with you youngens not letting us gray haired folks catch our share of the fish.
Had to go to Sherman today to get the cabin cleaned up after the ice storm. Saw five boat trailers in the marina lot. Most were out fishing the major points down by the dam. One guy did venture down to ‘Muddy Point’ this afternoon. Don’t know how they did; but the cleanup in the cabins area is going well. They are going to be able to have a big weany roast when they torch that tree pile.
Good fishin’

Well, I’ll tell ya…I tried everything I could think of to get my dad in the fish, but he sweared up and down that he had fun watchin me catch fish. I figured he was too old for that, and want to outdo me!! But I know he had fun getting out. I wasn’t expecting to do that well at all today, but when I saw the water temp was all the way up to nearly 50, I KNEW we’d be catchin fish! I know it was 38 on Johnson today, but I’m still hopin for another snow storm to keep these water temps from rocketing up. It’s real early to have 50 degrees in the canal, that’s for sure!!
March 18, 2007 at 2:44 pm #550110When are we going to go? Kinda thinking I need to help you come back to REALITY!!!!!!!!
Nah……Just razzing ya. I could tell you were on fire cause you only caught about 20 in the 7 miles I drove while talking to you!
