Anybody been up north? Think we’ll make a run up hwy81 this weekend. Get as far as Brookings and maybe even Watertown. Thought I’d check and see if I could find out about the ice? roads? the bite? which lake?

Any fish’n trip better than another weekend stuck at home but a catch’n trip is all the better. If anybody can give us a head start we’d welcome the news.

Try posting something under the South Dakota forums. If Kooty checks it he may be able to find out something for you. Good luck and let us know how you do. Take some pics!!!

Check the SD Ice forum too, or even post a question in the Ice General Discussion forum. Our Ice Pro Staff Director, Scott Steil does quite a bit of ice fishing in SD and check the ice forums often.

    Have fun!

Thanks, I’d stuck a note up on the SD general discussion page but nothing much there yet. The ice fishing forum’s got a question on Waubay there from the 1/3/07 but not much of a report back on it. I thought maybe some of the Nebraska guys had been up there looking for good ice so tried here too. More activity here than on the SD page. Keep up the good work….

I am heading to Webster tonight. Guys from Sioux Falls are meetings us up there. The bite on Waubay has been ok you just have to be mobile and pop a lot of holes.

Have you heard if the rain got that far and did it hurt the ice? Somebody said they were in a rush to get the houses off the ice in Minnesota. Wondered if there was anything to it or just how far south there was any good ice?
