I was out by a couple of smaller lakes last night and it looks like we have open water again. Might be time to get the boat out again this weekend or do some fowl hunting!!

I’m headed out to Sidney today and will be back on Sunday. I’ll let you know what I see out that way…might even stop at not-so-Big Mac.

Mac has a lot of open water right now.Just some skim ice on the west end.A couple days ago there was open water on the whole east end.
Water is coming up .There are still ice packs on the river at the west end but water seems to be flowing under it fairly well.Water table is up around the river out around Lewellen .

That sounds like good news. Let’s hope for lots of mountain snow in Wyoming this winter!!!!!

Thanks for the info, Shark. I was going to head out that way, but just got off the phone with my buddy and he’s too busy with tons of crime out there to hang out (he’s a sheriff’s deputy), so that sucks. Guess I’ll just have to make the trip another time.

My parents live in Saratoga, Wy and they had 40 inches of snow. It was a powder snow, so there wasn’t much moister in it but it’s the most snow they have seen in 6 years. More is forecasted for later in the week. I’m heading out there this Friday to do some ice fishing. Sounds like we’ll be trout fishing for one day. Then if we have time we’re going to run up to Seminoe to find some walleye. My dad’s budy has been catching 85 fish a day at Seminoe. I can’t wait!! My Christmas should be very merry!! I’ll get a detailed report up as soon as I get back!!

Have fun at Seminoe. That would be one scary drive on those roads in the winter. Have you fished it recently? I haven’t been there for 10 years. We used to go every year for a week but the last time we were there, the owners of the general store by the trailers were not very nice to say the least. Do they still have a 20 fish walleye limit? I remember the locals wanted all the walleye out of the reservoir because they were afraid that it would hurt the trout populations

I’ve never fished Seminoe so it will be all new to me. The road conditions are a big factor when ever you are traveling out there. Some areas of the interstate can be awful. On a nice sunny day the wind can blow 60MPH on top of Elk Mountain and they will have the interstate closed because blowing snow reduces the visibility to 0. We have a couple alternative routes for these type of situations.

I sure hope we have time to make it up to Seminoe, I hear it’s a beatiful lake.
