December 14, 2006 at 7:38 pm #511316Did they just get released this week? I have been checking every day for the past month up until last Friday
December 14, 2006 at 7:45 pm #511320Seen it on WC yesterday when I was checking for any new NTC info.
December 15, 2006 at 5:24 pm #511721It will be intersting to see how many Pro’s jump over to FLW. I know a few that have been talking about it.
December 15, 2006 at 5:56 pm #511734I know of a couple making the switch and I’m sure there will be a bunch.
It should be a great opportunity with the PWT to get a foot in the door as a Pro.January 5, 2007 at 6:43 pm #519086I think you will see several jumping ship from the PWT to FLW. The PWT has been dragging their feet for months. They promised a news release at the championship, nada, within a few weeks after, nada, by thanksgiving, nada. He we are Jan. 5 and no news release on payouts and the emailed schedule was still tentative. I still believe the PWT are the best run tournaments but the pay is just not there anymore. I know of several pros jumping ship, including myself. Not sure what is going to happen to the PWT in the future. They have recently been sold, which could be for the better or worse, only time will tell. I think the “Super Pro” series may be coming back to bite them a bit.

January 5, 2007 at 9:26 pm #519164Good to see you Jason. So the FLW is where you are going this year?
January 5, 2007 at 11:26 pm #414627Once again, Jason, great to finally have you over here! You aren’t excited about riding in a glass boat, are ya???
January 6, 2007 at 4:52 pm #519241Latest rumor from the mill is there are running 6 regionals and 2 super pros and the super pros have to fish all 8 for AOY. I think my wife would kill me!
New ride is a Ranger 620vs dual console, merc 225xs, 9.9pro kicker, Motorguide 109 PtsV, Lowrance 113cHD and a 38cHD, electronics will be here in a few weeks, the boat is still about 6 weeks out.
New is always exciting, isn’t it?
January 11, 2007 at 7:47 pm #521540Here’s the latest:
PWT Pros,
The 2007 PWT season details will be released and mailed next week. Deposit deadlines will be pushed back. Information will also be posted on the PWT website.
Each tournament will pay significantly more cash than last year.
By going to six events, pros will realize a strong return on investment at each tour stop. The Regional Series, presented by MotorGuide, is set with tournaments in Chamberlain, Winneconne, on Mille Lacs at Hunter¹s Point Resort and Escanaba. Pro entry fees are $1,450.
The Super Pro series, presented by MinnKota, will consist of two tournaments. One of these will be the first-ever PWT event in Canada on Lake Wabigoon. The other tournament will be ³signed and sealed² in a few days. Super Pro entries are $3,000.
Super Pro anglers fishing for the Johnsonville Angler of the Year title will fish two Super Pros and the entire Regional series. The popular PWT Celebrity Shootout at Aikens Lake Lodge will again be an invitational for the top-ranked pros in the Angler of the Year race.
More news next week.
January 11, 2007 at 8:57 pm #521579Thanks Jason!! I had heard that they were going to go to the 4 and 2 so it is nice to see that they finally confirmed the rumor. So ae you going to PWT now that the money is better??
January 11, 2007 at 9:16 pm #521592I doubt it, it would have to be considerably higher, (higher or equal to the FLW with contingency),
January 11, 2007 at 9:28 pm #521600Do you think that they are going to have a tough time getting full fields at the PWT tourny’s?
January 11, 2007 at 9:42 pm #521603Absolutely not, they are reguiring the super pros to fish all of the regionals, so there is 60 or so, all they need is 60 more which there was like 70 or so last year that fished all 4. I don’t think you will just be able to fish just 1 or 2 this year. Back to the all or none I would think.
January 11, 2007 at 10:05 pm #521611That is a good thing If you are a pro you are a pro, if your not your not. In my opion that is the way it should be
How long are you going to be in your new ride? Should I be saving my pennies now so I can get my new glass boat in the fall
January 11, 2007 at 10:48 pm #521634No doubt about it, never really liked the idea have having a few locals fish a Pro tournament. They don’t always do well, but hey put me on a body of water I fish day in and day out for $60k.
As far as the new ride, I am not sure yet. It depends on one of my sponsorsand their plans. If all goes well, 2 years. But if not, you can get in line with Ben and buy it in the fall.

January 12, 2007 at 7:52 am #521828Zach, you ought to go to Buzz’s and check out the Ranger they got in there for the boat show. Pretty nice rig, just a few road rash spots on the trailer. Has 150 Merc Opti on it along with the finders and a trolling motor. They only want $13K for it. It has a full windshield too. Can’t think of the size right off hand though. They also had a 692 Fisherman with a 150 Opti. Both were really nice looking rigs.
January 12, 2007 at 2:17 pm #521846I have already been in there and looked at them. The boats are in good shape and look nice but the motors are not what I want, so I guess I will keep looking. I think I am going to stay in mine for 1 more year, it’s 3rd year, and get into a different boat next winter, a glass one I hope
