Here’s the link to the details in the Ice Fishing Forum

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask away. I hope to see some of you there. We have a few Nebraska guys signed up already!

Rhett Eckmann and I are headed up from West Point – Shack 18. Hope to see some of you there. If someone wants to come along, I think we’ll be leaving around 4-5 AM on Friday the 19th and coming back at noon on Sunday. Probably go through SC, Lemars, Worthington, Mankato and west of the cities.

    Todd,

I might be your huckleberry. I have to see what the wife’s schedule looks like, I would chip in for gas. We take highway 15 from 60 and go through New Ulm (stop for German summer sausage) then Hutch (which has some construction) then St. Cloud. 23 to Olgilvie, then 47 north. Pretty much back roads. Is the house you are staying in full? Have you fished up there much?

If you want some very differant but delicious ribs, stop in at the Kiserhoff in New Ulm. My folks have gone there for over 50 years and I’ve been there for their annaversary since I can remember…never had a bad rack!

Take your open face along for Hutchinson…The Crow River puts out some dandy eyes just below the dam! Long as your working there…you might as well play there too!

Can’t wait to shake your slimy hand Todd!

They sell their special sauce at some of the grocery stores around there. I was thinking more of a brewery tour than of ribs, but both can be accomplished, just don’t like how stiff my latterhosen (sp?) get in the cold weather.

by the way, where is the german summer sausage??????? in New Ulm!

Wimmer’s Meats from here in West Point bought Bassett and Ambassador meats up in MN a few years back. Bassett has one named New Ulm that is my favorite of them all.

some may know more than me, but since I was a college dude in Mankato, we would always run into Randall’s in New Ulm and buy a few sticks of summer sausage for duck hunting opener lunches, You would have to pick it up by 9am, or they would be all sold out. As time goes by, Cash Wise bought out the old Randall’s, and moved the sausage shop into the new Cash Wise. Anytime someone hears that I am going through New Ulm, I have a standing order for a few sticks of summer sausae, jalepeno beef sticks, and bacon. I am drooling on my keyboard now, so I’d better quit while I still can.

If this IDA get together is anything like the Oct. Mille Lacs GTG it will be well worth the trip. Tons of fun and a bunch of great fish to be caught. Book a room and bring a pole and someone will be more than willing to help put you on fish!!! Besides if this weather doesn’t get considerbly colder here we may have another ice season like last year here in Nebraska. So everyone should head north for this to get an ice fishing fix!!

O.K. Nebraska guys and gals. The ice fishing season does not look to be in our favor again this year…. so make a reservation at Mille Lacs and get up there for some ice fishing. Have you seen the reports from Mille Lacs lately…… It will be awsome!!!!!!
