Please welcome Overton Nebraska resident Brian Robinson aka Fishhunter44 to In-DepthAngling’s Field Staff.

Look for Brian’s reports on Elwood, Johnson, Tri County Canal, Harlan, Sherman and the Kearney area lakes in South and South central Nebraska.

More about Brian, in his own words… “I live near Overton, NE, and live only a mile from where I grew up. I have a degree in Criminal Justice and work at the Youth Rehab and Treatment Center in Kearney, NE. I am currently back in school as a student of electrical technology, but have still found plenty of time to get out and fish. I grew up fishing mainly private sandpits, but when that access was taken away due to change in ownership, I started learning to fish much larger, public waters. I’ve been doing that since 1998 and have learned tons, but am still learning about every time I get on the water. I would never trade my childhood growing up on private sandpits and having the area to ourselves, but I often wonder how much better I’d be if I fished the waters I fish now all my life, instead of just the past 8-9 years! The reason I say this is because when I started fishing larger public waters, the rate at which I started to learn just exploded. Now I enjoy fishing any water I can get on, mainly for walleye, crappie, and catfish (especially big flatheads!). As a representative for IDA, I would like to be visible and offer my knowledge to help people have better experiences on the water. I also worked for Cabela’s for 8 years, 3+ of those as a product associate, so I enjoy giving people my input when they have questions on products as well. I look forward to using this site to meet more fishermen and continue learning better ways to have more fun and success on the water, and pass that knowledge on.”

Welcome to In-DepthAngling’s Field Staff Brian! We’re all looking forward to your reports and knowledge!

    Brian,
I would like to say ‘soon’, but I know better, unfortunately! I’ve been hitting the crappie so hard lately that I’ve kinda let the cats go by the wayside, but then again I usually do this time of year. I have been wanting to drag a few baits around for flatheads though…maybe I’ll still get some of that done, not sure. I’ll keep ya updated though!
