I was thinking on how fun it would be to sit on the back of a boat with a shotgun and blast away. lol… So my question is, can you do that legally do that in Nebraska?

    Don’t want to ruin anyone’s fun, but. . . .

I am pretty sure firearms are not a legal method of taking fish in Nebraska. And, I am real sure it probably would not be very safe.

I know people do it with bow and arrows. But I believe there’s a rule in the hunting book that would probably apply to this, which states a boat cannot be under power while using a shotgun. I’m not really a hunter, but I believe that pertains to waterfowling….but I bet they’d cross reference it to this as well.

I actually called our Game warden about this exact topic because I can only imagine how much fun it would be!
He informed me the same thing Daryl said, but agreed it sounded like a lot of fun. Took my son down on the Missouri and pulled him on a tube, he forgot his baseball bat so he was trying to catch them with a net. He got hit more times than he caught the flying monkeybutts though, so did I while driving the boat. Those things make a mess when they find the inside of your boat.

I went out tonight to run some fuel through the motor so I can store it for the winter We saw a few jump up but not as bad as earlier in the year. about a month ago we had a few jump in and my buddy didn’t realize after jumping in the boat it got snagged on his jig. He through the thing in the river and his rod went with it.
