And it’s been horrible for me and some of my friends. This cool weather, with water temps going up and down…it’s been brutal. Been trying to figure out a few new things lately, and some have been working. Was pleasantly surprised Wed night at a private pit I fish. While trying new things, I figured I’d run into a few pike, and I did get one. I do believe I have another monster on, but he popped the hook. However, I did land a nice LMB, and 2 walleyes and even a sauger. It’s always nice to add another weapon with confidence into the arsenal. As you can see, the walleyes were very aggressive, and caught in water I’m guessing was no deeper than 5-6 foot.

I haven’t had much success of late either. A few whites here and there. A few crappie and a once in great while walleye. Cool weather and unstable weather patterns making patterning fish a real challenge. Good luck.

I expect some of the regular patterns will really show themselves with this hot weather we’re going to get this week. 93 and 96? Crazy!

Nice fish Brian. I was doing some volunteering last week and was only able to get out on Friday night. I went over to LE Ray in Grand Island with a guy attempting to try and target the muskie they have in there. While I didn’t catch one myself I was able to be the net man for the 29″ one we put in the boat.

Never fished that pit. I wondered if those fish were still in there.

If you are talking about the muskies in Grand Island’s L.E. Ray. . . . Oh yes, they are in there. Pure-bred muskellunge have been stocked in there in 1999, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2011 and just a couple of weeks ago. I get occasional reports of some of those muskies being caught and have seen pictures of fish over 40 inches. There are a few anglers that target the muskies there and they have some stories to tell!
