Made it out tonight for about 75 minutes or so with my buddy Jeremy; it was just too nice to sit at home. With it being projected to be humid and 83, waking up to 70 degrees and cloudy all day sure was a welcome surprise. We made it to some area pits and found the crappies to be close to shoreline structure as well as suspended over deeper water. I’d say we caught around 30 fish, including a nice northern by Jer, and I wrangled a nice gill. Quite a few were over 12″, including the 12 1/2 inchers held here. Just goes to show, you can still find the crappies in July. Gotta love it.
