Like most folks on this page I’m extremely passionate about fishing to the point where my fiancé has a hard time understanding and jokingly says I’m cheating on her with fishing Haha anywho I’m a river rat bank beater and new to the state (from Iowa) and primarily targets smallies on the run and ol miss north of the coon Rapids dam now I can tangle into some pigs but wish I had a boat to get on the water which I’m sure it’ll happen in the future but until then whenever I see a fishing boat float I’ll yell freind?! Haha but all jokes aside if anyone on here targets smallies on the river weekends or evenings and ever has an open seat I’d cook you a steak dinner to tag along! Tight lines!!

Gotta learn to hold them sideways and straighten your arm. Better for the fish and makes them look bigger.
September 24, 2018 at 2:36 pm #1799391Unfortunately you gave away you secret spot there. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.
So now you want to cheat on her with some guy you met on the Internet?
Just kidding. I wish I could help ya. I used to fish the Coon Rapids dam daily when I was a kid. Lots of pigs above and below the dam. Never needed, or wanted a boat to fish that area. You’re coming up on some prime time fishing for walleyes and smallies at the dam.
My main area of target now is written on your blue shirt.
Save up and get yourself a little 12’ boat to cover more water on the river. You’ll make yourself a better fisherman by starting out small, I assure you.

x2 you can get into a decent 12-14 footer for under a grand, start tucking away as much as possible every paycheck and you’ll be there sooner than later.
September 24, 2018 at 3:11 pm #1799397I have a deal for ya. Friend of mine gave me a 12ft V duck boat a year back. Said he bought it for $100 and never put it in the water. I put it in the water and it leaked like a sieve. I imagine if a guy were to spend some time with some JB weld they could fix it up. You want it, its yours. Wife wants it out of the backyard. PM me and I can set up a time if you want it
nhammInactiveRobbinsdalePosts: 7348September 24, 2018 at 3:34 pm #1799404Never had much luck at the dam for smallies in the fall. Picked up back to back 26″ eye and 21″ smallie north of dam at undisclosed location 2 falls ago now. That was epic.
If I get the boat back up to that area I’ll give ya a shout. Pm me your #. This time of year my best smallie fishing is shorefishing the deep bends.
September 24, 2018 at 11:30 pm #1799534I troll for walleyes on the croix pretty often and usually have an open seat (or 2). Anybody’s welcome! Just txt 630.341.0557
September 25, 2018 at 7:14 am #1799550I’d jump all over that little boat if I wasn’t in an apartment makes life a little difficult with lack of storage at times had to leave the flip over ice hut in Iowa and buy a pop up that’ll fit under the bed but I really appreciate the offer!!

Probably not something you would want to abbreviate in a text to your wife or GF….
