Need help picking out new helix

    Need your guys help I can get a helix si 5 gen 2 or a helix 7 mega di gen 3 for same price. New to all this side and down imaging stuff. Wondering which you would pick. Thanks

    Decide on the largest unit you can afford. Then go one size bigger.

    Not SI on a 5 inch screen. If it must between those two it would be the 7. Caveat, if you also want it for ice fishing. 7 is better to use, 5 is easier on batteries.

    smb218 I don’t know how familiar you are with this site but in the fishing home area there’s a section about toys for big boys, and in that there’s a Humminbird section. I started a thread less than a week ago wondering basically what you’re asking. I think I’m going with the H7 that has side imaging, it’s listed for $700 at Cabela’s with a $50 rebate. A lot of the advice I received was also in relation to screen size.

    I would look for a deal on a new one or a used 7″ screen with side imaging for 500.

    Look like you could get a Helix 7 G3 mega SI for $635……Not too far out of your budget
