Need help picking out new helix

    I can get a helix 5 si gen 2 or a helix 7 mega di gen 3 for the same price. New to all this side and down imaging stuff wondering you guys thought on which one to go with thx

    Have had gen. 2&3-3 seems to have a sharper SI.
    Have only used my 3 a few times though.

    I’m a big fan of the side imaging. Don’t know the specific changes between G2 and G3, but I would recommend getting into SI. You will like what you see.

    I’m leaning towards the side image since could have both down and side with that one and would not have the side image with the mega down one

    In my opinion if you want anything to do with side imaging get the absolute biggest screen you can afford. It makes all the difference in the world. If you have to stick to a 5 thats fine too but save a few bucks and stick to di. Size is everything with si.

    As mentioned size is everything when it comes to SI, now do you plan on ever adding more units to link them, if so be sure the 7 is an N for networkable. Also the 7 uses the micro Lake maps not the standard size. If I were you I would really try and swing at least a Helix 9, you will never regret going bigger.
