Last week I received an email that the place I’ve used for years to winterize my express cruiser (Tanner’s Lake Marine) is going out of business. It was great service to give their customers notice, but now I have to hunt for another shop to winterize everything.

I’m in the Oakdale area and I’d like to find someplace that’s experienced, reliable, and it would be a bonus if they were relatively close. I know of the places down toward Hastings, but I was hoping to find something closer.

Any recommendations? Since slots tend to fill up quickly, I’m feeling like I’d better get this figured out.

    Many thanks.

There is a guy that does winterizing on the north side of Stillwater
Blvd. between Inwood and Helmo Aves. He’s closer to Inwood than Helmo.

He used to work at a boat dealership so he knows his stuff.

He has a sign he puts out in his yard every fall.

I have been going to Roberts Marine just over the border in WI, and Bob has done a nice job wintering my Opti the last few years along with some other odd jobs like replacing the gas line on my old Ranger a few years back and helping me remove my kicker …

More great options that I didn’t know about. Thanks guys.

I hate to have to think about winter already, but I made the mistake a few years ago of waiting too long to make an appointment and then having to run a heater in the boat because I was afraid of it freezing in October.

    Good to know the options.
