Snapped 8” off my ESP 6’ power lite rod. Looking for something in the $100-125 range, 6 to 7 foot, Gill and trout rod, one piece and be able to throw a F-7 Rapala if need be. Will be putting on my Pflueger Summit 25. Read back post and see the st croix has a big following. What else is out there? Any made in USA? Thanks all.

I’ve always been a St. Croix fanboy but I’ve slowly been looking for other brands. Unfortunately seems like a lot of rods are actually made in China even though the rods may have originally designed in USA. Some that I have looked over within the past few years and some are just updated recently this year. Many are price point just below $200 and above $150.

Dobyns Sierra series – Trout Panfish

Consider the Diawa Kage Ultralight series of rods. I was very impressed with the one I bought – one piece, very light weight, XF action, Alconite guides. For me, the best UL rod I’ve ever owned. Have my eye on the KAG791LFS after purchasing the 7’7” version last year. My nearly $300 Seth Feider rod will soon be up for sale and replaced by the Kage.

St. Croix Panfish Series Spinning Rod PFS69ULF 6’9” Ultralight Fast Action $130. Made in Mexico at a St. Croix owned facility. Heck of a rod for the money.
