i hear yea there……ever since this new group took over they have very little of anything in stock.
last year i hit cabela’s in rogers for a couple reels……….helped i had gift cards……….they had plenty of reels!!!!!!
This was my experience as well. The Fleet Farms that I’ve been to in the past 2 months are mostly empty pegs in the fishing area.
I went to Cabela’s in Rogers on Friday and they had decent stock of lures, line, reels, rods, etc. Must have got a recent shipment in because for a while there it was pretty bare.
Cabelas has been like this the last 2 times I went. Same with gander in forest lake.
It sucks that none of these stores can seem to restock there damn shelves!
L&M up north recently had aisles clear of trolling motors etc. My buddy tried to buy a trampoline, and even a bounce house – all gone.
The supply of “making your own fun” stuff is likely dented by covid.

No doubt the covid “cause” all along the supply chain starting from China to warehouse/distribution centers here in the US.
Add to the distribution disruption the changing demands for certain products.
My daughter has been trying for some time to buy a childs bicycle and a printer for home.
Just none available in stores or online.
Imagine the 2nd hand market for everything once life gets a little more normal. I already see signs at costco stating that returns are not accepted on rice, TP, hand sanitizer, pasta. That shows the panic buyers now want their money back. Absolute stupidity, but I think that some of this outdoor gear is going to pop up all over craigslist and classified ads once people get back to pre-panic status.

Are you sure she’s hooked up to her WiFi??
Ever since they sold to new owners The fleet farm in lakevill has been on the if your gonna buy it we aint restocking it plan. This isn’t helped by the covid mess. It seems like they will get stocked up at Christmas time and thats it for the year. And its everything not just fishing and hunting gear. But if ya want clothes they have plenty.
I don’t if it is related but 2 local bike shops have almost no bike inventory. I was told wait time is October.
I agree that fleet farm sucks right now but what store doesn’t? Anything that has survived the COVID test is running in short supply…which is pretty much anything outdoors. YES- bike sales are crazy, if you got one lying around, SELL IT! Fishing, camping, hiking, are also out of stock most places.
But hey, that’s a good sign right???
Bikes, kayaks, trampolines, fishing equipment, freezers, etc. If you see something you want you had better buy it and not shop around. Have even seen boat dealers advertising new boats all sold out. Camper sales through the roof. Who would of thought with so many people laid off that recreational stuff would sell so well. You wonder where all the $$$ are coming from?

I think there will be some items for sale this fall. Some of the new buyers probably forgot you have to store stuff in winter and the payments keep coming. JMO

In the last 2 months, every time I’ve gone to the bank for cash, it’s been brand new uncirculated crisp 20’s or 100’s in serial# order from 2017 or 2018. Haven’t gotten many newer dates. But clearly, there was some still laying around.

I didn’t mean the government would run out of printed money.
I think they will stop sending it. No more stimulus and no more big buck unemployment checks. Reality will set in.

I am betting that many of those purchases were on impulse, many not working and bored. Also betting the amount of credit card debt skyrocketed.
Fall rummage sales may be lucrative?

I’m looking forward to a year or two from now with all the bank owned and foreclosure sales
I had a hard time finding a reel a couple of weeks ago. Cabela’s in Owatonna only 2 spinning reels available, Lakeville Fleet Farm had none, and Lakeville Gander had only 3. I talked to the Gander manager and he said that they were going to receive a shipment. They did not receive a lot and I am sure they are all gone again, but I got what I wanted. Cabela’s and Ganders said they are trying to fill their shelves but can’t get the products to do so.
