Want to add the Ned rig to the arsenal this year. Looking for your top 2 plastics recommendations for this. Fishing mainly dirtier water, weeds and weedlines. Thanks!

I like the Zman TRD in multiple colors and the Zman tube. I have some big TRDs but haven’t had as good success with them. The zman elaztech plastics seem to be significantly more durable than other plastics which is why I use them. Just make sure to keep them separate from other plastics. Also, if you’re fishing in weeds, you will get hung up frequently. Don’t bother trying the jig head with the weed guard either.

Zman TRD but make sure you get the Big TRD. Catches better quality in my experience and keeps the gills off of them. The mini craw plastics have done pretty well for me also but typically use the Big TRDs. The coppertreuse (I think that’s the name) has been my best color.

x2 on using the regular ned hook over the weedless.

I like the Zman baits also, very durable.I have used the weedless heads around wood and sparse weeds and like them.

Excellent. I have some Z-man shroom jig heads. Probably a dumb question, but do you ever pitch to docks or shallow cover with this setup?

Z man baits hands down you will save lots of money in the long run.

No, but I’m sure you’d catch fish doing it.

    Yes, 2 things:

•Use a plastic like Z-man that floats so when you pitch it for instance by a dock post, the tail will float up, let it soak awhile…

•If you want to skip a Ned under a dock or overhang (which can be hard to do but is also really effective) I highly recommend a Biwaa Armored Craw. It skips so well, almost like a water skier even on a lighter Ned head. Also has the floating claws so you can let it soak a bit too. Get the 4 inch, it’s actually closer to 3 inches.
