Going up weekend after opener, have never fished that area. Do most guys rig during day then pull cranks? We fish north side and mud early June but struggled last year and guys at red door said sand was still good. Just wanted to try it out. Any info about presentations would be appreciated. Thanks

Pulling salmo hornets and shad raps right around the breakline, can be productive. Time of day and cloud cover dictate if you are on the top side or bottom side.

There are fish in the NE sand all year. The weekend after opener a good tactic would be a jig and a minnow or Lindy rig with a minnow or leech. The fish bite all day, but you may have to slide deeper throughout the day. There are little patches of weeds, rocks, and divots in the sand that will concentrate fish.
